Point taken. I can deal with Clarkson much better, the other guy is trying too hard. I'm still waiting a few shows before I decide whether its good or not.

 

Clarkson is funnier and more entertaining...he's been doing it longer, after all. That's the difference. There are definitely similarities in their styles, though. I liked the sand dune jump.

 

This is true. Even if the whole challenge felt a bit pointless, that bit was in character.

I'm trying to have a sense of perspective in comparing the freshman crew here to their more well-seasoned UK counterparts. They have been doing this in the current format for eleven years, mind you. It's one thing for the format to be mature, it's another for the actors to have found their footings.

Anyone who hasn't seen the beginning would be well advised to check out S01E01: http://www.finalgear.com/shows/topgear/1/ Tell me after you watch some of those that you weren't praying for Jason Dawe to be murdered with an axe.
