That's really good to hear, especially the last bullet. My biggest reservation about any US version would be that it would get watered down and be about NASCAR and Dodge Chargers, etc.

Koto, they're not the same shows. Check Joe's torrent info. That show is worth it. I have it on DVD courtesy of my techie son ;) |
Only one thing bothers me slightly, and that's "Carolla promises to focus more on improv than the heavily-prepared Clarkson."
Personally, I happen to love Clarkson's loquacious nature, even if it is "heavily prepared." It really enhances the hilarity of the few occasions when he finds himself without scripted material, such as when tagging a member of the audience who has made a disagreeable comment or has a beard. And, let's be honest- I know that the whole "Jeremy uses a chainsaw to cut out the portion of the wall which Richard has defiled with a picture of a motorcycle" bit was scripted, but it was still funny as hell. Still, keeping an open mind. I've only seen Carolla on TV a couple of times, and that was while channel-surfing quickly past The Man Show. Hopefully TopGear will bring out a more refined, highbrow Adam. |
Did anyone watch the Adam Carrolla Project that was on TLC a couple of years ago? The man is funny and seemingly intelligent. I think he'll be able to do Top Gear justice.

I've watched many of the torrents before I moved to this area, and I've since seen the same episodes air on BBC-A, and they're the same show. |
