No, Clarkson & the gang aren't quite back yet. But the first episode of Top Gear Australia has aired!

Grab the torrent here: http://www.finalgear.com/shows/topgearaus/1/1/

Downloading now, as well as the newest Fifth Gear. I have found Fifth Gear to be very enjoyable this season. The new presenter is kind of a jackass, but the production values have jumped up several notches and the writing is way better.

Great, dl'ing now. Ought to be a good indication of how decent the US version will or will not be.

ICan'tDo55 - If I can figure it out, anyone can. You need a torrent client like Vuze or BitTorrent or uTorrent, and that's it for these files. For movies and whatnot you'll need something on the order of winzip or 7-zip to extract the files.

Nice quacker!

I wish I still did drugs. I would drop a couple hits of acid and stare at it for 4 or 5 hours!

µTorrent is the one to have. It's secure, stable, and not a resource hog. Anybody who says otherwise is gay.

messiahx has pretty much nailed it. Once µTorrent is installed, download the .torrent file itself and open it with µTorrent. A .torrent file can be thought of as a pointer to where the community hosting the actual file itself is.

Depending on your connection speed, downloading a popular file should happen in approximately realtime. It's a non-sequential process so you can't start watching until the whole thing is done.

You may need a grab a copy of the Xvid or DiVX codec if you don't already have them. Try it first without.

This show (well, the original version) is the reason I built a dedicated media PC in the first place.

Glad you like it. I gave the duck motif a rest for a while, but it's time to get back to roots.

Oh, FWIW, James May apparently has a new series out called James May's Big Ideas. I haven't watched ep1 yet, but if it's anything like James May's 20th Century it should be a hoot.

He said Fifth Gear, not Top Gear.

Anyway, the torrents for all three shows (soon to be four) are always here: http://www.finalgear.com/ When they're new, they'll be on the top level in the news section. Fifth Gear 14x08 (the most recent episode) is currently in the #2 position as of my writing this. Archives can be had by selecting "Shows" on the top menu.

Well, just watched the first episode, and I must say, that didn't suck nearly as much as it could have. Warren needs to die slowly and painfully (too much Jason Dawe), but I've rather taken a liking to this Charlie bloke.

I was a bit surprised at how completely identical to the UK series it really is- right down to the finer points of the set dressing. Didn't expect that they'd bring out The Stig with no explanation and just expect everyone to understand. In the UK series, when it was first brought out to do a lap, they spent some time describing what The Stig was, where it came from, what its purpose was, etc. I mean, we all get it- but does the whole population of Australia?

The Challenge was a bit, well, pointless. Sure, we got to see them all frolicking about like asses, but they really didn't say anything about the cars hardly at all! That's fine and well when they're driving around in 40 year old Lamborghinis that they bought for less than £1.000, but not when they're testing brand new vehicles. Hopefully next week's Ford v. Holden will be a bit grittier.

Still and all, it gives me some hope for the US series.

I watched the show last night and thought it was a good first attempt but they're still going to need some time to come into their own. The main presenter needs to chill out a bit too, came off as too much of an *** hole.

I think that's part of the reason I like him for the role. Remind you of any other popular automotive journalists?
