try not to hit them motorcyclist....

quite a few of us have bikes... some of us actually paid more for the bikes than our miatas...

this is about SoCal.. but it really does apply everywhere... especially in states where helmet laws somehow don't exist:

I thought motorcyclists were worth 100 pts

cjernigan 08-16-2007 06:16 PM

The main reason I sold my bike this past year. Damn people hit you trying to meet their point quota.
I'll stick to 4 wheels from now on.

:werd: not worth the risk to me anymore

krayzrac3r 08-16-2007 06:26 PM

i still have my RR just really not riding anymore because of safety also....there hasnt been a day where i took my bike out and didnt almost get run over.

magnamx-5 08-16-2007 06:52 PM

Is it me or since 2002 alot more people are riding i remember when i started riding there was hardly anyone on the raod, in KY now bikes are everywhere. I still feel safe but i no longer wish to punish myself with long trips on my bike since the suspension has started to go :(

neogenesis2004 08-16-2007 06:55 PM

its all the baby boomers retiring and buying big harleys with stereos and ac.

cjernigan 08-16-2007 06:55 PM

I did take my dads Harley out for a ride today. Things are a little different when riding in rural alaska versus middle TN though or somewhere busier than that even.

Ben 08-16-2007 06:57 PM

haha
my dad's bike has a cd changer, vents, real heat, electronic cruise control, adjustable angle windshield, fog lamps, heated grips, heated seat, REVERSE, linked brakes, on board air compressor, and probably a bunch of other shit I'm forgetting.

The new ones have NAVIGATION.

neogenesis2004 08-16-2007 07:08 PM

its a escalade on 2 wheels dawg

cjernigan 08-16-2007 07:17 PM

I want to see one that comes with a midget to do the driving for you.

No it's worse it's a Goldwing Still they make stomping bikes when they are striped my dads has almost 100 lb/ft of torque and only wieghs about 500lbs wet. It has some pull to it, but it needs more HP hopefully it is turboable in it's future though ;)

Sorry i thought we were talking motorbikes  :)

medisyn 08-17-2007 12:09 AM

I have herd that a lot of accidents these days are older people on 800+cc bikes. Of course you have a lot of squids splatting everywhere. :eek5:

I want a bike, but I also kinda want a scooter. Scooters seem like fun and good mpg. Does this make me gay? (Or was it the miata?)

Loki047 08-17-2007 12:46 AM

If you live a city no. if not then yes

curly 08-17-2007 01:11 AM

the new goldwings also have airbags.

riding around the suburbs of portland, drivers are fairly good, I definetly don't almost get ran over every ride, more like every 12 or so.

that should be added to a statewide sensus, "Oregon's nnde/r average is .0833"

(nnde/r=number of near death experiences per ride)

Dam things a BLAST to ride.

magnamx-5 08-17-2007 08:28 AM

One more rider just lost in a colison with a 80 year old automobile driver. And they still act like there is nothing they can do. Bullshit if a mutherfucker hits a bicyclist playing lance armstrong it makes national news, but since they where on a motorbike when they where run over it's ok. WTF Damn shit needs to change.
