Tuning EBC on a 1.6L GT2871R
thought I'd post this log, for those who are curious how a GT2871R can spool on a 1.6L with a .02" overbore.
log manifold, 3" turbo back, 8.5:1 CR, stock head. http://www.boostedmiata.com/brads/15psi_2871.jpg |
so...what is that? roughly 4k it hits 15lbs?
|
more likely roughly 4.4K it hits 15psi. not too shabby for a massive torque attack.
|
Thats impressive. Is that brads log? he sent me some but I haven't had a chance to reinstall logviewer on my desktop.

What hotside is he running on the 2871?
|
.64

I was asking because I was looking at a 2871 myself and am worried about spool on the .86 A/R. I know that Begi uses a GT28RS with the larger hotside on their kits. I was fortunate to pick up my MSM for a good price and am using the money I saved on de-MSMing it :). I have the .86 A/R spec'd now, but I am wondering if the spool is going to be that much worse with the bigger hotside.

is that overshoot/spike?
|
i was just trying to see where the thing was making boost so i could tune from there...its one of the first logs...i had the solenoid closed to 4500RPM iirc, where i then bleed it to 30% as you can see.

holy shit. Maybe I should have listened to you when I bought the gt2860rs. lol
