Turbo install woes

This install is not going as smooth as I would like. It started with my local hose shop selling me the wrong oil supply fitting, and I didn't relize it. Then broke my PCV valve, oops. While marking the holes for the FMU I dropped my Sharpie and it slid perfectly down my fender leaving a 6" black mark on a white car. And the waste gate bracket I got didn't fit, so it got customized with my 14" channel locks. :vash:

At least the injectors, FMU, turbo, o2, wideband, downpipe, and intercooler are in.

It is amazing what a 8 pound shorty sledge hammer will fix, or modify. :D

you can ge ta new fitting, you can get a new pcv, you can wash the sharpie mark, and you solved one issue....sounds like you're better off that a lot of :loser:s here.

Rubbing alcohol will take care of the sharpie, but you'll need to re-wax if you're into that kind of thing.

Sounds like just a bunch of small stuff honestly. That's the joy of diy turbo builds...nothing works right...so you have to make it work

It is all small stuff that is stopping me. And tonight I will post pictures of my latest road block. My wastegate actuator I got from Bell is too short by 1/2". And since no one makes a 1/4 28 high nut, I will be making one with my trusty Miller mig and a stack of nuts :D

took care of the sharpie promptly, and then did a quick polish on it. So now I have a 8" polished shiny spot on the rather dirty Miata.

hehehe he said nuts.

take your time. make sure to step back every once in a while with a beer/smoke/whatever. I measure projects by how many smokes it took.. :)

Last night I ran into an issue with the car not wanting to start. :( It started before I installed the Bipes, and then after it didn't want to. Started to check my solder joints, plugs, etc. Still nothing, but the Bipes was lighting up. So I decided to double check every thing again. Thats when I discovered the Bipe just wasn't quite pluged in all the way.

So It started, idles, revs up, no intake leaks. :D At idle it is pulling 20hgs vacuum, and the Wideband was showing 12.1 at high idle. :D So the front bumper is back on, and I hacked up the air diverter to fit. Now I need to rotate the tires, finish the steering rack, and attach the front spoiler. :D
