Twin Charging (thoughts)
Howdy,
So I was thinking about twin-charging a Miata. I got the idea after seeing the Bee *R S15. If you haven't seen the video here is a link 1 .... 2. :) Anyways, unfortunately I can't afford to do this at the time. So I am barely going to be able to boost a Miata little lone Twin-charge one. lol So I was thinking, with the new supercharger kit from BEGi (link) And the M-Tuned Manifold (link) Or the Boost Logic Manifold (Link) you could pull off the twin charge system.... anyones thoughts? ANYONE who is rich and willing to be the first to do it? |
Its been done before. You wont be the first. The project was called Cold Fusion.

WOW, FML. I am sorry, I didn't know this has been done before.
what a waste of bandwidth lol here is another video of the bee r carrrrrr.. YouTube - Project D drifting |
WES, you gotta SEARCH man. 5 second on the SEARCH button would have showed you this thread: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t23706/ and told you everything you need to know about how this forum feels about fucking retarded twincharging.
|
If you have to ask a forum about twincharging, you shouldn't be asking at all.
|
if you post drifting, you should die.
|
I dunno guys... if I ever have enough fun money, i'd really like to try a hotside MP62 and a rear-mount turbo. It could be fun.
|
Hey, that's the solution to all the stud loosening problems!!!

Sorry I didn't search.
Also I didn't realize that this forum hated drifting. (Savington) I was trying to find out what people thought about twin charging, not a fucking how to. |
Wes I think you got the short end of the stick. The drifting comment carried over from another thread where Don from M.net commented on Mike's drifting skills leading to his future death.
The twincharging stuff, I can't comment on that. |
I'm thinking of building a manifold that will put two turbos on each cylinder. I got the idea after seeing this:
I can't really afford to buy gas for my Geo right now. Anyone's thoughts? |
What ever became of the idea of compound turbocharging to achieve lower-than-ambient inlet temps? I thought the idea was really quite clever, and potentially rather simple.
|
I always get that confused with sequential turbos. I think they use compound turbos on some of the 18 wheelers but I have never actually seen it on a car (street car). You'd probably have to have a fair amount of empty engine bay to pull it off correctly.

..sorry, had to. I assume the second turbo would be larger? I suppose some compressor map reading would be in order. |

"I look forward to asking a ton of noob questions and not using the search at all." 2) You already started a thread with that stupid ass Bee *R S15 video and pictures 5 months ago and people made fun of you. 3) You USED to have a car that run 22PSI but no longer even have a car. 4) 20 posts into your history here and you are asking about twin charging. I could see an ass reaming coming a mile away. You do not have to act cool to hang around here. You do not have to have a bad ass car or a knowledge of turbo chargers. There are plenty of people here who would love to help you build your system or give their opinions on different setups. I don't even drive a Miata or have a turbo and they just fucking love me around here (at least until I traded my Turbo Miata in for a Geo Metro <G>). BUT if you want to talk drifting or other newbie shit like twin charging or NAWZ then this is the wrong place for that. Spending 5 minutes reading a few threads and it is clear to see. After all these months here you should know that or expect to face the consequences. |

What people round here "hate" about drifting is the same things most automotive enthusiasts hate about fads in general, that fads are commonly adopted by douchebags who think they're the coolest shit out there because they're a part of the latest scene. Drifting in the states is a fad. I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has. It'll go away eventually and give way to something equally as "spectacular" and be instantly adopted by a rush of douches fresh off the drift scene. |
