Oh the things I know now, and what I'd do differently all-together.

That's the oil pan...the motor is shown upside down on the stand.

I assume you're referring to the 3.5-stage dry sump?

Who knows, the owner might be saying the same thing after he realizes he could have spent all that money and probably wound up with something that will lap a bunch faster if he started with something V8-powered and weighing less than 3400 pounds. I'm not saying it will be slow, definitely not, but for the money (even stock, those cars still cost a mint) you can probably go faster with another platform. But what do I know, I haven't the coin to be troubled by such decisions.

I'll tell you one thing, they are going to need God-money to keep rubber and brakes on that car. And when you have God-money, a baller dry sump system is a mere afterthought.

hustler 11-16-2010 12:39 AM

If I were to do it again from the start, I'd have AN/JIC fittings on everything, SS lines for flammable stuff, nylon for others, more heat shielding in the paced I can't get to with the motor in the car, and I'd rewire the car.

:giggle: at how small the Tial BOV looks compared to everything else...

I remember the twins from the TV show. That is all.

I don't see what's so crazy/phenomenal about a build with unlimited resources.

They have no budget pretty much. They get the most expensive top dog baller shit that exists and bolt it together, and whatever else they think up that doesn't exist off the shelf they just have their engineers design and welders/fabricators put together.

Don't get me wrong, that car is beyond badass and everything is literally top notch, but its just not as impressive to me as someone like Sav or bbundy or ANY one of our track guys cars (hell, even yours) where there is a never enough money to make everything Godly and you have to figure out ways to make it faster without dumping 100k into it.

The intake manifold on that car alone cost about as much as most of us have in the entire engine.

I dunno....Just my .02

99mx5 11-16-2010 01:46 AM

The tires are on backwards.

Of course you're part of "the crew" :D

The ammount of work you put into your car is insane. And you don't have eleventy billion to do it either.

Nagase 11-16-2010 04:24 AM

That car is just:

Im with 18 psi on this subject.

TurboTim 11-16-2010 08:39 AM

That stuff is very nice.

http://www.drysump.com/mazda.htm

So who's going to be the first of us to run a dry sump?

hustler 11-16-2010 09:13 AM

I've seen a lot of "unlimited fund" cars come out of shops that aren't reliable.

I've been throwing the idea into Andrews head but it really isn't needed on the BP.
