USPS is #1

Well, I have seen some pretty awesome shipping displays in my day, but this one takes the cake and eats it too.
Found these two gems sitting here waiting for me: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330149300 A little further inspection and you can really see the craftsmanship and the many hours they spent sculpturing these works of art: http://i1083.photobucket.com/albums/...DSCN1375-1.jpg https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330148861 USPS, I am disapoint |
Really though, I would be ------- furious.
|
That deserves a little face to face time at the post office with pics asking what the F--. I know they;re not going to give you anything but seriously. USPS or the APO broke a ROCK that my parents sent me from Africa. It was a rock hallowed to a box shape they got me and the APO/USPS broke a half ft rock. How do you break a 6in thick in every direction rock?
|
They are just sealing the deal on them closing their doors....
|
Based on the title, I was going to come into this thread and start an argument that UPS is better and that you are a loser. It looks like I won't have to do that though.
|
Were you by chance shipping wet possum? That could explain the damage.
I ------- hate USPS. Most of the time when I do have to have something shipped from them, they NEVER leave it on my porch. No idea why they won't, but they just won't. Have to drive to pick it up myself from the post office. Though I will say being on the shipper end, I do like their flat rate boxes. I'm always sure to package the stuff like I am prepared for it to be dropped from a plane onto someones driveway. |
Damn...that is messed up. I guess I've been fortunate with my experiences with USPS (sent out brake calipers, rotors, multiple car parts) and never had an issue.
Was there any insurance on the items? Hopefully nothing was broken... |
Wow. I've had some pretty broken boxes from all shippers, but I think that one on the right takes the cake. Box probably got wet at some point.
|
I have never had a damaged package from USPS. I buy a lot of crap online, and it almost always ships USPS because it's cheapest. I had a letter torn once, and it came in a plastic bag with a form apology letter, but a machine did that.
I'm guessing you just have douchebags working for your local P.O. |
Like I've said numerous times before, USPS has ALWAYS done me well. Its been UPS that I've had major issues with. Freightquote.com too, but never USPS.
It does look like they got wet. What was in them? Something heavy like car parts? That sucks dude. :td: They should have AT LEAST left you a note with some type of explanation. Now just hope whoever shipped them had insurance on them. Start making phone calls bro. |
I had issues with FEDEX and UPS. Both have honored the insurance after "inspecting" the damage. So I just always make sure to insure everything.

FedEx has never damaged or lost a package.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 Neither have UPS or DHL. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 Oh, wait. That's complete BS. It turns out that pretty much every shipping company has damaged a package at some point. Ah, well. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1330182859 |
What the hell, I've had usps shipments go back and forth a dozen times in the same box and still not look that bad.
|
Just looking at the pictures you posted makes me mad. Were the items damaged (sorry, may be a silly question considering the boxes)? If they were, hope that the shipper had insurance. This is just unacceptable. Good luck.
|
The boxes were 1.8 brakes that I bought from a member on here. After taking everything out and taking pictures of it all out in the open, we confirmed that ALL the parts made it to me.
I was more surprised than anything. Well, until I realized that I was able to nearly all the ---- out of the boxes through the hole with out opening the box. I've shipped with USPS a ton of times and never had a single issue. My glorious feed back score was made that way because of USPS Flat Rate boxes. The boxes were heavy, but I've shipped heavier and the box never looked like this. I mean it seriously looks like a wild animal tried to tear the box open in a rage. Never the less, I'll still do business with them. But not until I send them a nice, strongly written email with pictures. |
this is why the application says you must be able to pick up 70lbs
|
I use USPS for my business and I've had zero issues.
:knocks on wood: |
I have never had issues either, but still...
I would say vote with your wallet and don't use them, but they really do have much better prices than anybody else most of the time. I am sure that a strongly worded email with pictures will suffice, though. |

I pack EVERYTHING I ship to withstand a good drop. I overly pack things to insure this kind of thing cant happen, unless they just straight drive over it with the truck. Some people do horseshit packing jobs. That's usually why this happens. You need to keep in mind that the women handling the package will more than likely drop it a few times. They cant help it, that's why they have that job in the first place. |

Yeah. That 70lb weight limit tells you right there that little baby pussies will be handling the package.

I'm really glad you packed em well, cause otherwise those rims would have been beat to hell. shipping/delivery minions are morons. plain and simple. and we need to package accordingly. |
I think they actually might have "throwing contests" at the distribution centers to be honest. Lets see who can throw this box full of peoples stuff the furthest guyths:giggle:
|
the guy at my local post office has some sort of prison tattoo on his chest that resembles a cinnamon roll, but I think it's supposed to be some kind of allusion to chest hair or something... he's also got his tongue pierced... so... you know... he's probably of Leatherface's persuasion.

You know, when I was younger (16-22) I was a pretty rotten ----. The funny thing is, I did this thing called "grow up" and all of a sudden I'm a halfway decent person now. What I cant understand is how grown ass men can work a job and act like complete children, disrespecting people's personal property the way they do. |
The least I can hope for is that one of the losers decided to kick my box for fun and broke their f-ucking foot on my heavy-ass brakes

ZING |
Every UPS package I get is torn or ripped.
I actually refuse to do business with people that ship UPS...something I have to, but prefer not to. |
Rollbar padding from Amazon arrived pretty banged up

yes

If I was the type of person to get a style bar, do you think I would be the type of person who would bother with rollbar padding?
|
its funny how I have never seen a damaged shipment in person before until I saw my buddy's "new" 3 inch catback to complete his full 3" exhaust, and it showed up at his door step as bare, open stainless steel piping with what box was left taped around it that included the label from the box... no dents, but the flanges where nicked and very bad scraping on the pipe

clearly you haven't seen those leather wraps people lace onto their chrome "rollbars"
Also, I'd just like to point out that I would never spend $ on chrome anything car related. |
