USPS Tracking BS

Bought something from EO2k, shipped from California to Oregon. Expected delivery: 1/7/2015.

Went to check on the tracking last night:

WTF USPS, Alaska?

EO2K 01-08-2015 11:44 AM

Waht the shit?!

Let me make sure I sent you the correct tracking number...

aidandj 01-08-2015 11:45 AM

Haha it would make a lot of sense if it was the wrong tracking number.

EO2K 01-08-2015 11:48 AM

Of course the receipt is sitting on my desk at home.

Origin is correct, but I didn't send anything to Alaska so IDKWTF. I'll run home at lunch to get the receipt and confirm the tracking number for you.

Don't worry about it, I'm not in a rush or anything, I just thought it was funny.

Maybe they threw the box at Oregon and missed ;)

At least it stayed on the west coast and has not been shipped east and then back west.

lol @ USPS

The best part is that this morning it still says estimated delivery date is the 7th...

The tracking has been getting a lot better. I've received stuff before the tracking has said it left the first post office. But I also havent shipped or received anything non-priority with a tracking number in a long time, and tracked 1st class was always the worst offender. For me at least USPS has been much more reliable at not screwing up boxes and loosing shit than the other two, and in the last couple months unless it was a really big box ups and fedex ground cant touch the price of usps priority.

I bought Braineacks miata and he shipped me down the title USPS priority. It should have taken 2 days to get to me. Took over a month and the post office "lost" it at the post office he dropped it off at. He went and got a replacement title in the time that it went missing. The title showed up the day before I went to pick up the car.

I have honestly never had any issues with Fedex or UPS in 10+ years.

USPS is very unreliable, they have screwed up several packages being delivered to me, probably about 50% say they have arrived via the tracking website, and then show up 2-3 days later. WTF?

Sometimes I receive the package before their tracking even says it left the origin city.

Sometimes, the postal worker just decides to deliver to any random apartment instead of mine. Luckily, every package has been given to me by my neighbors, some of which were on the opposite side of the apartment complex.

One time they lost a package of Mazda parts I ordered, it took them so long to find it, the dealer just decided to eat the cost, ordered the parts again, recieved them, and shipped them to me. 3 weeks after I received the replacement order, there is a box that looked like it had been to hell and back on my doorstep which had been taped over multiple times to keep the parts from falling out. I repackaged it, and send it back to the dealer.

Needless to say, when I order anything now, I specifically mention that ANY shipping method is fine unless it is USPS.

Where I get frustrated when I have to pay out the nose to ground ship something from cali that'll take 7 days to get here when for $12 I could have had it in 2 days in a flat rate box. Flatrate, 100% perfect every time. And normal priority has been getting it right way better than ups lately, and much better than USPS in the past. I get too many wet and/or crushed boxes from ups.

Hell even UPS has been offloading stuff to USPS for that "last mile" thing. Must be in keeping with the thought of "offload your money loser to your competition...."

Yeah the ecowhater shipping, or something, some amazon prime packages get sent that way and end up taking 3 days instead of two. Because UPS and USPS seem to fumble the handoff.

Yep, almost got in big trouble yesterday when my GF's birthday present took 3 days instead of two. Luckily it showed up in the middle of the day and all wasn't lost.

I'm waiting for some shipping company to do drone delivery. I'll choose that company just so I can see the package be delivered and surrender to the machines
