I dont see that, but I read this now:

And this is where things get really fun, because this particular motor develops 356hp at 10,300rpm and 271Nm at 8,000rpm. The redline? 11,600rpm.

an ls1 makes that at around 3,500RPM. just fwiw.

and you'd also be making 300rwhp at 3200RPM vs 11,000RPM. that would be silly. It's best to use v8s that perform like an i4.

Love that 2.6L V8. Would really love to know what the engine dressed with fluids weighs in at.

But it is sort of wasted in a chassis that large. A BRZ is a tank relative to the stuff that engine is meant for. The 100-200 Lbs of weight saved over an LSX in terms of engine and transmission is dwarfed by the chassis.

Having said that, this BRZ vs ~400WHP LSX BRZ = This thing wins handily. The weighs a fine advantage sure, but consider the gearing this thing can use with an 11K RPM redline. TQ at wheels trumps TQ at flywheel, and TQ at wheels is helped the insano gearing this thing likely has.

..or just get an LSX and save about 15,000(?) in engine cost for a nice forced induction setup.

This is pretty much what Im thinking. Its cool and all but what class is is for?
Is there some class where you have to use chubby, new sports car but it can have a basically unlimited engine as long as its NA and less than 2.6L?

It just seems more about being cool than being fast.
Tuned up STI swap would probably blow this thing away, all else being equal.
