Default Value of an FMII MSM?

I apologize if there is a better place for this thread, I wasn't sure where to put it but figured here would at least be a safe bet.

There is a 2004 MSM with 42000 miles for sale that I found.

Pros: FMII kit

Cons: The soft top glass is separating and it seems like it has been in a front end collision. The seller says he replaced the front bumper cover and fender but that it still needs a headlight.

Assuming compression numbers are good and the damage does not seem to be extensive, what would this car be worth? He has it listed for $6700 but I haven't seen many FMII MSMs for sale so I really don't know what it is worth.

Input from more seasoned miata people would be appreciated!

Used FM kits generally go for at least half of their new value when parted out. MSMs are some of the more valuable NBs around, a 42K mile one in good condition is worth 8-9K all by itself. So I'd say it depends a whole lot on the extent of the damage.

I think I've seen this car for sale on Facebook.... if I remember correctly the damage was pretty bad and he wasn't too easy to deal with. Link?

I heard the exact same thing from a friend who is local. It is 5 minutes from my work though so I figure it can't hurt to at least go look at it.

Go take a look, can't hurt! I had seriously considered looking at the car and doing a part out if I could get it for the right price. His comments seeemed to indicate that he's an "I know what it's worth and what I have" type of guy who was unwilling to negotiate

That is exactly what I was thinking.

I agree, he seems to be of questionable character.

Crisp $100 bills in person do a lot for actual negotiation.

As long as you could part it out for what you paid (still a pain) I'd go for it if it doesn't look like a hack job.

I did that with an E30 'vert that didn't run well. But I got it cheap enough I knew just the bumpers/headlights/interior would get my money back. I ended up making about $3000 on it after making some trades.
