If you get it eventually, great, but what happens if you have any install questions or heaven forbid something goes wrong with it! How easily available is customer service going to be?

You passed the end of my patience about a month ago, I would have denied them my business at that point, even if it meant returning the product they just shipped, purely on principle. No thanks.

Unless I hear it first hand from someone who really knows, it is my impression that these guys are OUT OF BUSINESS. I had a couple conversations over this past weekend at an Evolution autocross school that suggested so.

Even if you do already have the hardware, you need a software unlock code on each machine that you want to connect to the device. If you already have one, make sure you don't wipe out your PDA memory or switch laptops, since then you'll only get 5hz sampling rate in the software with the new laptop/PDA build.

This ******* **** is DRM at it's worst, and these guys are a bunch of buttfuckers because of it. Had I known about the unlock code, I would not have gotten involved in the bullfuck that they are peddling to the unsuspecting.

Get a refund through your credit card company, Trey. Sorry you've had this trouble.

I posted this on SCCAForums.com, of which they are a sponsor:

"This will probably get modded out, but it appears like these guys have flown the coop.

Good product, but with the unlock code being necessary to get full functionality, the fact that they are outta here makes it tough to use the product as intended. Shame on them for implementing DRM style badness when I've shelled out real money for a product I own and potentially can't use to it's advertised potential.

This is bad business, they should be ashamed to show their faces at any event in the country."

Good job on SCCAforums.

I just lambasted them there and on my region's web site. I'm sure I'll end up getting modded out or banned, but whatever. Now I've got a unit that I probably won't be able to use at full function with my new PDA because it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to get another unlock code. Total crap. No one will even want to buy it, because you can only access the log at 5Hz.

Anyone want to post something about this on m.net? I don't want to look (more) like I'm piling on.

Amazing:

1. That I didn't get so much as a warning on SCCAForum about my loading up on the *********.
2. That they haven't responded in any way, whether on the forum publicly or by PM.

I am very serious about wanting a permanent unlock. One of my friends is stuck on 1Hz now because of their shitty policy, when he paid for 5Hz.

I'd think about the racepak from Emilio. It gives you a lot, and a lot of add-on flexibility. It's obviously expensive, but you gotta pay to be big balla. Maybe do one of those PDA software solutions in the meantime?

I still look at that racepak at least weekly, and I probably could have cut costs in other places to be able to afford it. Just think of that IQ3 logger dash looking out at you from behind the steering wheel....
