A very cool article about japan

was a pretty good read

that was pretty cool to read. That would be a hell of a night if I were ever to visit, but I doubt I could convince to girlfriend to stay for any extended amount of time.
|
Organized and fun? Sounds pretty good.

That was a pretty badass read.

What? This story is a crock. How in the hell can you street race without riced out civics and tegs that have fart cans and big rear wings? :giggle: These in people in Japan aren't true street racers with their high horsepower GT-Rs, Sylvias, Chasers and what not. They need to get real.:jerkit:
I didn't look, but isn't a Chaser the same car as the Lexus IS or the Toyota Avalon? I am trying to remember what it looks like from my PS2 Gran Turismo days. I am too lazy to google it. |
|
That is pretty cool. It shares the same chassis code(X)as the Avalon. Thats about it. The Lexus IS the Altezza. OK, who here has seen the clips for the new Fast and Stupid, err, Furious movie? Like the part where he gooses the throttle and times his pass perfectly to go under a tumbling, burning gas tanker that is coming towards him? That is some pretty compelling stuff. I wish I had those skills. Man I need to do some work. It is easy to get distracted while working from home. |
The Chaser was the Cressida here.
They were a rear wheel drive I6 platform that looked like a granny car on the outside, but had great potential. My grandpa used to have a 4th Gen (last sold here I think) wagon that was really fun for a 16yr old to borrow. I started this little fad called drifitng in that car. |
It'd be worth a trip to Japan just to watch that stuff for a weekend. That is pretty amazing that the culture over there allows those kind of car gatherings. I've been in groups as small as 4 cars and have had the cops show up.
|
So cool, and I bet they have fewer accidents than we do here as well.
