2015 Mini Cooper: This Is It

It's HUGE!

I was stopped beside one of those huge AWD versions at a light, while I was in the 750i, and its beltline and eyepoint were higher than my car!

it's a slightly larger mini... why is this thing huge? do those even come in AWD? Are you thinking of the Countryman?

Gotta be thinking of the countryman... i mean, the Mini HAS gotten bigger and bigger with every New Generation, but usually only by a few inches. The countryman however is a bigger crossover version of the mini, and as of now, the only mini that comes in AWD.
Ive owned an 05, and 08, and now have an 03. The 05 and 03 were both R53 models, so no real difference other than a couple aesthetic peices, and the 03 has better engine bracing. The 08 (R56) WAS noticeably bigger compared to my other 2, but only a mini owner would really notice without pulling out measuring tapes to log the few inches of difference.

I feel like every year mini takes an air compressor, hooks up a mini to it, and balloons it up more and more.

In for 2020 Mini that doesn't need wheels cause its perfectly round

I'm still getting used to the 750's immense length. I keep "schoolbussing" (clipping) curbs with the right rear wheel when I enter a parking lot.

But I kid you not the Countryman is way taller.

Can't believe how fugly that new mini is. Love what some of the commenters are leaving as image inspirations for the Mini's styling. It's just horrible!!

It's like an overgrown puppy. The proportions suggest it's small, then when you come close, you're taken aback by its immensity, like some kind of Fukushima freak.

Still relatively small. But damn that thing sure is eating it's wheaties. Still though my Volvo barely fits in the garage. The miata almost had enough room to park another in there. And I'm sure the mini is still much much shorter, and maybe only a bit taller, than the volvo.

And the 5-cylinder engine in VWs shares its cylinder head design with the Lambo Gallargo. It doesn't make it good.

The Countryman is an overpriced, overweight piece of marketing. There are other vehicles that provide more practicality and space and luxury at a lower price. It's insane.

Yes, I know you have one. Yes, I think you paid too much for a marketing ploy. Fun to drive? Sure. But other cars are too.

My issue with the new Mini isn't size, either. Yes it's bigger, 4.7 inches bigger in length which really does kinda defeat the purpose. But holy hell they uglified it. It's just so damn ugly! I loved the first of the new-gen Minis, and really liked the second too. But this one?

i like My mini Miata... it feels smaller than my mini Mini..

My dads Big truck, but i like the comparison. the back bumpers are aligned.

and, The 2 cars in this pic are only 10-12 feet staggered across the street from one another, but the perspective makes my Mini look mini-er than my mini-er Miata

The Mini is good for pissing off ******** who like to park like ********... I should put this in the appropriate thread. That dude was pissed that i parked there... lmao

It's insane? Name 3 other options that include everything you just listed at less money for what you get.
Hint: it's not the CX-5 which costs just as much with fewer options.

The CX-5 IS pretty bare bones in comparison... the CX-7 is nice, but it costs more and STILL has fewer options

For one, the CX-5 is not bare bones. But it's not what I'm thinking of.

looking at what, $32k?

I meant in comparison to a Countryman... the CX5 is pretty damn nice overall, just comparing the features for the price.
Then again, i havent seen a NEW CX5... Last time i saw one was when i worked at Mazda in 2009

EDIT it was brought to my attention that i confused the CX5 and CX7, with the CX7 and CX9 of that time.

But yeah... All the features Excluding the JCW package runs right around $34,595

??? The CX-5 didn't come out til 2013 sir. So it has nothing to do with whatever they were selling in '09. The new CX-5 is seriously quite awesome, and it is one of the vehicles I would buy over the Countryman.

I would also go for a Forester XT over a Countryman. Also: BMW X1. Also: Jetta Sportwagen TDI (although not AWD). Also: Ford Escape SEL 2.0L EcoBoost (don't laugh... 240hp, 270tq, leather seats, awd). Also: VW Tiguan. Also: WRX. Yes I'm serious.
