holy ****.

I remember when I was really young...like 5 circa 1986. My mother and father would take me with them to the street races with a trailered '83 retired pro-stock cutlass... in the streets.

Here's a link a video. Looks like cel-phone cam. That's way to ******* fast. The driver should be tried for manslaughter.

That's one of the worst things I have seen in a long time- a charity for children that ends in dead children. I don't see what the driver could have been thinking. Even if he got the 'ok' from Zeus himself he had to realize:

3000hp or more + burnout into second gear + unprepared surface + spectators + no barriers = total irresponsibility and potential disaster

I can promise you that if the driver has any sort of conscience- regardless of any legal/criminal outcome- he'll wish he had died in the wreck for a long time to come.

If you read the article, he wasn't the first dragster to do a burnout that day.

"If everyone else can do it......"

It looks to me like he steered a little over to avoid the dumb *** crossing the road and when he corrected back he lost the rear end. Basically the police are to blame for not keeping the spectators out of the damned road.

OMG I feel so bad for all the people involved. That is pretty ridiculous going that fast in a situation like that with no safety barriers or catch fences or anything. Heck one of the spectators can be seen standing almost in the middle of the road as the car goes by as arkmage pointed out.
