I'm surprised no one has posted anything about this yet. Maybe no one cares.

I wish they wouldn't replace him, may be just ignore the whole thing? I definitely don't want them to reveal his identity on air. Although the MSC bit was funny.

Because he is self-conscious about the "old guy" vibe he gives off on the forum, he types old I guess
I don't think stig is one person, I think they have different drivers come and go, but they are all good. Who actually knows, the last sentance of the article makes me have doubts.

We'll find out if they give him the boot aoon. The other train of thought is that the BBC is trying to generate interest/ad revenue. The last couple seasons of TG weren't as impressive as they used to be, maybe this'll help. The Brits are damn good at TV.
Me too...some of them are just not paid.
I think Ben Collins is the "everyday" stig, but they bring in guests that volunteer or accept, and probably have factory provided drivers for the really high end exotics. Just more motivation for the silent, helmeted character bit...you can easily change what's under the suit without anyone being the wiser.

My vote is on one single Stig. That's how it was with Perry McCarthy.
Speaking of which:

I'm leaning more towards this being a fan made movie, as Top Gear would have done it with music and more panache. We'll see though, I like the concept.
