I fucking hate my hose. 50lbs of kinks, leaks, and twists that don't go the way I want it. Oh you want to hang it up neatly? Too bad, it doesn't coil up the same way twice.

Let's have a very CR-esk thread where you tell me what works awesome, why, and where I can get it.

Bonus props for suggesting decent accessories like sprayers and the like. My current one sticks on WOT and always lands on the trigger when I toss it down, resulting in a shot of water. Usually to the crotch.

for suckers who do not pay attention: neverkink or any plastic. get rubber.

For sprayers and shit, I like the home depot NELSON brand shut offs with the flexible hose like this:

My sprayer is one of the trigger pull style from NELSON also (from amazon). I was tired of dropping the hose and getting sprayed in the face.

the trick on these is that they are kind of on-off but you can set the pressure with a dial/knob.

People also love the fireman style but the two-handed operation makes them a PITA for me. I considered piecing together a threaded trigger handle and screw-on fire nozzle like this:

but Griots wants $90 for the nozzle and I do enjoy some fan-spray pattern.

Know of a decent 15-20' hose? Shortest I see is 25. That's what I have now and it's a pain to work with. My driveway is only a car length long, with the faucet right at the edge of the garage. Back yard is small, with the faucet close to the edge of the deck. AKA: close to where any plants might be (currently only grass watered by god).

honestly I bought some non-kink hose from home depot like a billion years ago, and some generic ALL METAL sprayer and haven't much issues aside from the drop-crotch-shots lol

it is getting real old though (at least 4 years) so will probably replace soon.

as for the sprayers: if its plastic, its garbage. I have yet to experience otherwise. after trying like 5 plastic ones, all of which sucked despite being pricey, I bought an all metal one for like 5 bucks, and it worked perfectly for me.

This has been my experience as well.

Finally picked up the 3/4 Gilmore Flexogen hose and the above pictured Nelson sprayer from amazon, not sure why it took me so long. Such a nice upgrade from the $12 Home Depot hose and $5 sprayer.

I've heard the sprayer starts to leak after a year or so. For $10, I'm not worried.

I'm excited to have my first car wash in 3 years where I don't soak my pants or get sprayed in the face.

Takes loads and loads of abuse. I'm also pretty positive i've ran it over with the car before too...

It's amazing how the damn sprayer thing always lands on the handle, and with such deadly accuracy too, I thought I was the only one.

I prefer the old school brass twist style sprayer. You cant really buy good ones anymore, you just got to like inherit one from your parents or grand parents or maybe score one from 20 years ago at a yard sale from some idiot that doesn't realize I'd pay 100 bucks for it. I still use the one at my parents house from before I was born, never crotch shots when you drop it, never leaks (except when you need to replace the gasket where it mates with the hose about every 10 years), always sprays a harder stream than that crappy pistol grip style ones and the newer fireman look style twisty ones. Care and feeding, you should put vaseline on the threads on the inside every time it starts to get hard to turn.

I still wish it twisted, I might look into a quick release so it'll twist. In the past, the spring loaded O-ring seal worked better than twisting it on without having pliers available.

I just got one from my Aunt. Green from age, but hardly used. Make me an offer.

Works great for me. Makes sheets of water, and rinses better, without driving in dirt.

Amen. My thumb, the only nozzle I'll ever need. I can make a sharp high pressure jet, or a fan spray with a 1/10 second adjustment. Hose, I just buy whatever looks reasonable at Lowe's, nothing too cheap, but not the top of the line. Never have much issue, aside from the occasional kink when I drag the 150' across the yard.
