Water in spark plug holes - SC300

I have an opportunity to get a mint SC300 for dirt cheap ($749), however, the headgasket is blown and has water in the combustion chamber, when looking through the spark plug hole.

At this point, is it likely that it has hydrolocked? Spun a bearing?

The owner told me that he can see water down in the hole. I haven't inspected it myself since he is far away from me.

a blown headgasket will not put water in the spark plug wells.

Why not?

Because it wont. There is a bunch of stuff between the spark plug wells and the head gasket. None of which is directly linked. Only way it could get in there directly from the engine would be through a crack... in every plug well. There could be oil in the wells because of a valve cover gasket leak, or the orings around the wells that seal them to oil in the camshaft area.

OR, did the seller say he could see water in the cc/on top of pistons through the holes that the plugs thread into? THAT could be a head gasket leak.

OK, I should have said he sees water when looking down the spark plug hole (with the spark plug removed) aka combustion chamber.

Edited OP for clarity.

I think if its that cheap and aside from the engine failure its clean/nice overall, I'd take it. you can pick up a replacement engine for that at a junk yard for not too much money. they are great cars, my brother had one and aside from being big and heavy is a great car. and I dont even have to tell you how good that straight six responds to boost:)

I'd pick it up.

Its worth the 749 easily, at worst case replacement GE motors can be had for cheap, or you can always go turbo motor on it.
