what is this for, on bov

top one is for vac for the bov to function, whats the bottom one for?
on a side note. i threw this little bugger on my car, and it barely opened, and right after blow off, idle would dip to say 200rpm, and or, car would stall out im guessing, that its a second port for like a multi stage bov? lol i dont know, im talking out my ass :fawk: Attachment 213327 |
concerning the stalling: are you recirculating it? do you need to or do you have an EMS.

car is stock other from greddy turbo parts
still have stock ecu in control i have the turbo smart one right now, from etd, and it is not recirculating, and it idles and blows off just fine, if i try any other bov, the car wont idle correctly, and wont blow off correctly, and stalls right after blow off, but somehow, my turbosmart, doesn't let any of this happen i just want a different sound lol |
Iv never seen that before....Just vacuum that off too and see what happens..lol

You say your making 200whp with only the Greddy kit. Stock ecu? What size injectors with your 10psi? You got a dyno chart? Vash- |

Some bovs don't leak at idle and will let the car idle fine. I have heard some others leak and fuck the idle up.

Vash- most people make near 175-80 at 8psi with full exhaust and intercooler so im making an assumption that at 10 psi, , i could theoretically be at 200 totally a guess, and the fact that i beat an evo,,, TWICE! last night:cool: |
how much boost are these guys running on there greddy setups?

the lower port is the help make the valve work faster, boost will push up on the piston, while the vacuum pulls on it. You'd connect it pre TB. so tee off the turbo. the top port would be source off the manifold. It also helps keep it closed at idle.
otherwise, leave it open. Paul, IIRC, Phil is running like 14psi, Dan 12psi. |

I'd guess your closer to 140-150.....if I had to guess. :) Vash- |
I use both ports on my Type R BOV. it allows me to run the spring at the fully soft adjustment. The valve is very sensitive--it'll open just free revving lightly to blow off excess pressure.
It'll also stay sealed tight just fine. |
