I can't believe I was giving financial advice to a Jewish couple. Can she come check out our taxes?

What about having a velvet painting done of the two of you?

ROFL.

Also, as someone who isn't doing that well financially right now, I honestly don't care how you spend your money. :) How about you donate to charity or use it to do things for the greater good, rather than buying cars and purses.

Track time.
GRM subscription.
Vacation.
A motorcycle would be cool but after watching a guy get killed on one(not his fault truck hit him) I decided the larger more easily seen miata will be my thrill machine.
Booze is a great addition to anyones life and household.
Let the g/f buy her purses. Sell the old ones on ebay.
Buy some badass driving shoes(I want some).

Too many things in this world to spend money on. Save a bunch.

I make a pretty decent income and still shop at thrift stores. My girlfriend and I take turns buying dinner. She works for an accounting firm and makes a decent income as well. We both are good with money and she could pay cash for about any Honda or Toyota car she wanted and probably will in the near future. I already have a diamond paid off if we decide to get married. We never use credit cards for anything, either cash or don't get it. Our future is bright and secure together if we get married, but we have our own money and still have enough to give to charity. Could I buy a nice used NSX or ZO6, yes, but rather save for my future. Save your money, spend only what you need to.

We put eveything on our USAA cards. Gas, restaurant, grocery, clothes, everything. The rewards point, ie... free plane tickets are like free income. We have our budgets and stick to them. I was over $13k in CC debt at one time... then I got my shit together (before getting married) and now I fly for free.

Another idea:
How about the full treatment at Bondurant or Skip Barber for both of you?

m2cupcar 03-19-2007 08:38 AM

What about a 5 star night on the town? Dinner would get you around 7 courses, your own waiter, a wine sommelier to pair up wines for each course. Spend about 3-4 hours eating and drinking and then off to a same level hotel for the night. Dinner out the door could be done graciously for around $500.

I like these ideas alot!

SamNavy where in the world did you get that stuff for the velvet painting.

We do alot for others, My family supports a homeless man. And this is just some stuff for use to blow before we start saving up for a house.

Skip Barber might work, she always wanted to start autocrossing (she thinks she can beat me, shes probably right)

Ben, HD Projector? Thats what I want.

Braineack 03-19-2007 09:54 AM

I would buy a bottle of Absinthe, get all kinds of shitty. Then maybe take a trip to Lesbos, and meet some nice Lesbians. :) But hey... thats just me..

samnavy 03-19-2007 10:54 AM

I've got a Panasonic AE-900U showing on a 92" DIY blackout cloth screen. Onkyo RCVR and DVD, Klipsch speaks, plus a DIY 12" sub. My friends think I'm God. I paid $1400 for my Panny after rebates. Projectors are the way to go if you can control the light in the room.

Loki047 03-19-2007 11:14 AM

I was thinking bout making my own projector, but hd lcds are hard to find and expensive to tear apart. So now im thinking of just buying one.

Braineack 03-19-2007 11:29 AM
