what to do when your toyota wigs out
|
Huh, and I thought putting it in neutral would have been the answer... I like this one better. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!
|
for shits and giggle in 3rd gear yesterday I stomped on the gas in my altima. then hit the brakes with my left foot while staying WOT, car stopped immediately. Brakes torque > Engine torque.
wanan guess what the procedure is to test the stall speed of your auto tranny? hold brake, floor it.. mine slips at 2300RPM in my prelude. |
I so wanted to post this here previously.. now have my outlet:
Prepare for massive lulz... Record for the most "Fucks" in any youtube video to date. :bowrofl: |
^^^ demonstrates a great point... but HOLY SHIT
Does he kiss his wife with that mouth... clean it up for the kids, show it in drivers ed class.... Plus If he is going to rant, Post it publically, were people can still find out who he is, Why be the Black sock Masked man. Stupid fucker... |
ok so with this whole toyota thing and the gas pedal sticking.
my friend works for toyota and is doing all the recall parts and he loves all this extra work cause of flat rate....but anyway i was talking to him about it and there have only been 12 reported incidents of the gas pedal sticking due to the failed solenoid. here's the kicker tho....its a GM part that's failing.... |
Thirty hundred times I've had a throttle stick wfo. Each time I managed to turn the ignition off. I never cease to be amazed at my talent, skill, experience, ability, alertness, reverence......whatever.
How do you suppose this entire hoax came about? With the gov investment in GM, nah, nevermind, my mind is loose and wandering... Corky I'd buy a Toyota in a heart beat |

While I feel for his family, I still find it rather odd myself that nobody seem to know how to put a fucking car in neutral or turn the god damn ignition off. Completely blows my mind. |
People actually died? Unbelievable.

The united states and the media continue to cater to stupid people. Whats wrong with just saying your stupid, tough shit? Were not bailing you out, you can't manage your money. Your too dumb to realize what a seat belt is, so we make it a law. Its why when someone comes up to me and starts babbling spanish, and i tell them to speak english, because they're in america, someone tells me i am inconsiderate or rude. (Walk up and speak english in a foreign country and see how well that works out for you, with out asking for english first.) Holy crap, your a retard, i should feel bad for you because your too dumb to work that chicken nugget in your head that your lucky keeps you breathing. You spill hot ass coffee on yourself and sue the people that made it for you, because lord knows you wouldn't have bitched if it was colder..... not. If we started smacking dumbasses and quit defending them and giving them money to quit bothering us, we wouldn't even see this on the news. Well, that and they are hoping it will bail out GM.

I like how in the simulator the Toyota is in Neutral. lol

I will not own a vehicle that does not have a hard power off mechanism. All of my current vehicles have a keyed ignition switch. If/when we get a vehicle that automagically knows I have the key in my pocket and starts when I push a button, that car is getting a kill switch put on it. The military has the budget and testing resources to make a completely control-by-wire vehicle. I don't believe current automakers do. I will not drive a vehicle completely controlled by software unless I can shut down that software with a hardwired switch.
The dumbass in the news this week with the "stuck acclerator" in a prius was clearly a lying sack of shit. And this video is funny, sure. I laughed. But ... the gearshift on a Prius doesn't actually control anything. It just sends a signal to the computer. If the computer is fuxored, you are fuxored. But I seriously doubt the CHP officer failed to attempt to put his car in neutral. Corky - of your stuck WOT experiences that you recovered from - how many of those vehicles had electronic throttles? How many of them had electronic throttles, no keyed ignition switch, and a transmission selector that wasn't actually a mechanical connection into the transmission, and only told the computer which solenoids to fire? And to be clear, I am not technology shy. I rank fairly high on the technogeek scale. But what I do for a living is help design computing systems to be robust and fault tolerant. Right now, it looks to me like Toyota has a fault in their software, the recovery from which is not clear. One cannot usually disconnect the negative battery terminal to reboot the car. Thus, my kill switch requirement. |

it's not the right time to be sober now the idiots have taken over spreading like a social cancer, is there an answer? Mensa membership conceding tell me why and how are all the stupid people breeding Watson, it's really elementary the industrial revolution has flipped the bitch on evolution the benevolent and wise are being thwarted, ostracized, what a bummer the world keeps getting dumber insensitivity is standard and faith is being fancied over reason darwin's rollin over in his coffin the fittest are surviving much less often now everything seems to be reversing, and it's worsening someone flopped a steamer in the gene pool now angry mob mentality's no longer the exception, it's the rule and im startin to feel a lot like charlton heston stranded on a primate planet apes and orangutans that ran it to the ground with generals and the armies that obeyed them followers following fables philosophies that enable them to rule without regard there's no point for democracy when ignorance is celebrated political scientists get the same one vote as some Arkansas inbred majority rule, don't work in mental institutions sometimes the smallest softest voice carries the grand biggest solutions what are we left with? a nation of god-fearing pregnant nationalists who feel it's their duty to populate the homeland pass on traditions how to get ahead religions And prosperity via simpleton culture the idiots are takin over [x8] Because you know they are crazy liberals but some songs don't sound liberal at all... |
Drive by wire without double or triple redundancy is just plain stupid.
It would be really nice to know what actually happened with that CHP officer. Did he try to shut it off? Did he try shifting into neutral? Downshifting? Hammering the brakes before speed got ridiculous? Rubbing the car hard against any guard rails or barriers? You would think he would have but I'm guessing not. If he'd tried all that I'd think they'd be alive today. Panic makes people stupid. Cops are not immune. |
you think cops are cops because they are smart and/or skilled? someone smart/skilled in the line of work would be a hired bodyguard making G's not someone just trying to ride out his 20 years of service and get his pension.

Smart and skilled aren't a prerequisite but they do get training. Training to handle stressful situations, driving training, problem solving, etc. All things that should have helped with the runaway Prenis.
Also, ease up on cops. Much like those in the military they are doing us a service and our lives would suck ass without them. |

When I was a senior in HS my pickup got broken into INSIDE THE SCHOOLS SHOP by some punk ass freshman. Took my book of almost 1000 cds and my $500.00 head unit. There were surveillance cameras inside and outside the shop along with an eye witness who saw the kid take something out of my truck. When the witness learned the truck was actually mine (I knew him pretty well, he just didn't know that was my shit) he came to me and we took the problem to the worthless "School Resource Officer" who was a City of Overland Park Police officer stationed inside the school. He told me there was no way to prove the punk bitch ass kid actually did it, and it would be his word vs. my witness word. WTF was this dumb fuck talkin' about? This basically got escalated directly to the police department and ended up sitting in the office of the police chief. Did I ever get my shit back? Did the punk kid ever get prosecuted? Negative. It wasn't for a few more months that I learned the Police Chief had a son, and his best friend was the punk bitch kid who took my shit. #2. Two years after high school I went in on a deal with my best friend to buy a crotch rocket to fix up. We split the cost of purchase 50/50. After a few months of me pouring MY own money into the bike for repairs he decided it wasn't worth messing with and wanted me to buy his share out. Still attempting to get the bike running I gave him whatever I had that could be spared and came to an agreement that when I could finish paying off his half I would. About 3 days later I come home from work to find the gate on the side of my house open and tire tracks through the yard. Walking into the back yard guess what I find? No motorcycle. Wonder where that went. Called him up and asked where our bike went, he denied knowing anything about it. Made a phone call to the police and they dispatched an officer out to my house to fill out a report. Funny enough, I knew the guy and he was actually a pretty badass dude. Growing up my best friends father was a K9 copper, and thats mostly why I wanted to be a cop so bad. Well this guy was Jim's best friend. He took my report, took some pictures of damage to the yard and told me he'd look into it. On the report was the phone number, name, and address of the guy who I knew took the bike. A few days later the kid even admitted it in an Instant message conversation that he took the bike and sold it to his neighbor. Borrowed a friends car and sat outside his neighbors house for a few hours every couple days until I saw them open the garage door, there sat my motorcycle. Took photographs of it, noted everything I could see then returned to the police. They were interested in seeing my bill of sale and title, which I had also secured during this period of time. Submitted my new evidence along with a hard copy of the IM conversation (Thanks for logging, Trillian) in hopes they'd do something about it. Nope! After several months that whole thing was just written off as another loss, and chalk up another failure for the good Old Police! #3. Another forum member and myself were held at gunpoint by a crackhead in full view of 2 Edwardsville patrol cars that were 100 yards away for something like 40 minutes.. He just got his miata and this crackhead swore we were there to score drugs from his busted ass trailer park when all we were doing is waiting for some of my friends Co-workers.. They're never there when you need them and always there to write me tickets if I break ANY traffic law. I will admit in the last few years I've received far more warnings than I have tickets after being pulled over, even with some VERY excessive speeding... But for the most part my experience with police has been pretty much useless. Remember when I was a wee kid the local PD had "To Protect and Serve..." on the side of ALL their patrol cars. Can't speak for any other PD, but I can't remember the last time I ever saw that on a cop car. I wouldn't even come CLOSE to grouping Military and Police in the same Classification. Yes, some ex and current Military serving people ARE currently employed by police departments during their duties, but thats a whole other story. When it comes to Military I greatly respect them. They truly do a great service to this country and I'd never disrespect them, police on the other hand... I'm sure there are some REALLY great police officers out there, more than the bad ones.. Just in my time I've run into WAY more terrible cops than good cops. It shouldn't make any god damn difference WHAT I did in my car to get pulled over, that doesn't mean you have to come up with some big holier than thou pissed off Rambo type attitude especially if you expect MY respect and consideration (Short of me mowing down some little old lady and her walker in a crosswalk...) Just because you have a gun and a badge does NOT give you the right to be a walking COCK and treat people like fucking shit. Nor does it make you right 100% of the time, all the time. Just my $0.02. </Threadjack> |
can i get a BOO YYAAAAA!!! ^^^^^^^^^
|
I've had my share of shitty experiences with cops too but nothing that extreme. The cops I know get just as frustrated by what they can and can't do. Shitty job, sometimes scary job. Just as in any profession there are bad eggs too.
#2 & #3 seem inexcuseable though. Were you able to approach those cops to ask why the hell they let you get threatened at gunpoint? Did you try to bypass the police and take your #2 evidence to a DA? I'd be biased against the police too with those situations behind me. |
I just hate the govt is my problem, my sister-in-law's husband has passed all the tests to become a cop here in fairfax county. just gotta wait for a spot to open up, then I'm getting out of all my tickets!
|
i think i IDed our ski mask wearing prius driver in the prius video!
BTW NWS for language!!!!!! |
Don't have any stories of terribleness, really, but i've never, at any point in my life, said "Oh good, the cops are here."
Nothing but bad. They can't protect you. |
I read on an open carry message board once a perfect description of what the police do. For the most part they don't prevent shit they're just there to clean up after the fact. Sure if they lockup someone who would've reoffended then yeah they've done a good job, but it didn't stop them from robbing or killing someone in the first place.
Speaking of that fatass guy, LMAO! The same dude as the "fuck you fuck you fuck you" fattie.. Don't see another one of him in a Prius, but it sounds an awful lot like him. |
