web manager for an online store, makes it hard not to sit here all day. I have yet to turn my desk so my screen doesn't face my door, but i enjoy java nes games.


I just started building Megasquirts for people in my spare time cause I'm boring and have no life.

I purposely leave my laptop at home when i go on trips now(unless i'm in the miata, megasquirt), just so that while i'm on vacation for example I spend time with the g/f instead of on the forum.
We'll be talking on the forum, if there is any delayed response in my voice "Get off the forum now!". Anyway, such is life.

Craigslist, Ebay, virtual stock exchange, facebook a little, homemadeturbo, google finance shit, whatever really. I don't play games or anything so I can't throw any good ones out.

I'm usually in class while on the forum (like right now). I browse leftlanenews.com, streetfire.net, slashdot.org, hardocp.com. I'll probably go to sleep after this class and then rush to do the homework I neglected for tonight after I wake up. Ah, the life of a college student whose miata is back home. I'm considering starting playing Battefield 2 in class.

I'm not supposed to be on here while at work. tisk tisk.

I get to design and analyze valvetrain components (cam cores, rocker arms, lifters, belt drives) for race engines, mostly boring american V8 stuff but now and then there's something really cool (recently did some work for a reno air race lycoming). I'll have a shit load of stuff to do and then nothing for a few days.

I browse this, the local miatamob forum, my email accounts, that's about it.

Where the heck are you going to school that you have ethernet access in the classrooms? Heck, it wasn't that long ago that a few of us went on an expedition down into the basement to hack into a serial multiplexer and give ourselves network access in the dorm!

My major's software engineering and I already have a 2 year degree in programming. This is my first semester and I have to take the beginner programming class only because my prior classes were in c++ and .NET and this school likes Java. At least it gives me time to plan what I'm gonna do to the car when I get home.

I usually check out the new posts here, scan craigslist for possible winter cars, check out facebook, and then start paying attention to my lectures. My roommate usually plays flash games online during our classes.

We also have wireless in all classrooms/lounges and ethernet in the dorms. But all that greatness is countered by the fact that the male:female ratio is 9:1. In my current class, it's 20:1.

Same here, except we have 2:1 girls to guys.

I check in here a few times a day. The rest of the time I'm either doing contracts or packaging design. I seem to spend a lot of time trying to help my idiot co-workers make time run backwards.

yeah i get it wireless on the entire campus (most of the city), but i don't get to use a computer in any of my classes yet so i have to go to the lab before and after class then browse around this place

my gf bitches when i'm on here to, i try to tune her out but then a fight starts :nono: if something major happens i'll just sue philip :bigtu:

:rly: I like the sound of that school. Living in SE Wisconsin, eh? Me too. Actually, Milwaukee. The only school I can think of that comes close to that ratio is Marquette.

I'm on the net in all my classes as well. CPE student, 4th yr junior. I use a tablet though so I jot down notes at the same time.

I'm from se wi, but I go to uw-stout 300 miles nw of home.

I work in Corporate America and manage internal training websites. This forum has definitely saved my sanity once or twice. I do anything and everything besides sitting in front of a computer after 5.

I took Philosophy of Feminism at College of Charleston in '87. I was the only guy in the class but other than the girl who conned me into taking it they were just a bunch of butch lesbians! You wouldn't believe the dirty looks I got from those women. They really hated guys! The only thing I can remember from the class is that we talked about the Captain on Miami Vice coming into the station and telling all the guys to "settle down girls". The feminists really hated that shit.

^ geezus. i took a similar class @ UCLA nearly 10 years ago. needless to say, i didn't get an A.

We had it in '95, but probably not what you'd expect. The ethernet was coax 10base-2 that a couple of us snaked through the ceiling with drops into five rooms (to provide for deathmatch playing of Doom using IPX/SPX) and the wireless consisted of Jordan's packet-radio transciever. Jordan was the only one that actually used it, as none of the rest of us owned "portable" computers. Ethernet access was provided by a 386 running Slackware that connected the end of the Ethernet run to the aforementioned port on the serial mux, that got us into a VAX termserver. With TIA running on one of the 11/780s we had a virtual SLIP connection.

Those were the bad ole' days...

so i think im am then youngest one here im only 17 and im still in high school...sucks ass i hate it but i do love my miata all my friends are already out just working and making there cars fast ..
so afeter school i just spend a few hours on the car (until the weekends then i try to spend more) do whatever till its gets dark then i sit at the computer

You guys are lucky. My workstation has two separate CPUs with internet, but one's on the SIPRnet and one's on JWICS. There's only one NIPRnet computer in my whole section and someone else is always on it. :sadwavey:

That sounds kinda cool. When I was in machine shop back in HS, we built a rocker arm grinding machine for a company out of California. It was a neat project that took a while to design and build but it was fun.

Sit at a computer. Tell contractors to fix software. Surf here, m.net, Nasioc, fatwallet and many fantasy football/sports sites. Listen to Howard Stern. Workout.

I do PC work for inventory etc. Mostly i sleep all day wand work all night though. Bunches of ink paper and rollers FTW.
