What do you think about these T3/T4 turbos?
 

Hi.
I would want your opinion about this turbo - yes, I know it's a no-name ebay turbo (xs - they unglue, the compressor housing, but isn;t this one screwed together). SO basically I would like your opinion about this turbo. WHy do you think it is bad, good. Answers like: "This is a wrong turbo for a miata." are pointless. I'm asking if the turbo is good and not if it is good for a miata.

If you like shit to blow up, then its a good turbo for you. No but really, you get what you pay for. I could be wrong, but I dont think I know anybody who has had one of these turbos and it lasting more then a couple of months. There junk plain and simple. If you want something cheap, go with like a DSM or a nissan turbo out of a junk yard car. They'll last a hell of alot longer.

sure it could. and the anti-lag manifold would be bitchin.

just get the TO4E-46 compressor, not anything larger.

Can't you find a turbonetics t3/t4 or something for less and just rebuild it...my friend just picked up a used full kit for 800 for his 97 GS-R...

Any ebay company that cant spell correctly I stay away from.

Find a used t3 and buy my t4 coldside for it ;)

For the record, I actually like my turbo... It's quite a trip at 17-18 PSI.

OK i will be going with a Precision SC61. Don't know which trim yet.

SO I'll be staying away from this turbo :) But I'll be getting a wastegate from them. A friend of mine had it for like 10k now and bought a real tial 38mm and says it's not worth the extra money to buy a real one.

My setup will be:
bored bored 1.8 block (wiseco 9:1 pistons, manley rods), 99 head with 1mm oversize valves (exhaust and intake), intake/exhaust manifold made by me. the exhaust manifold will be an equal length runner made out of ss.
MegaSquirt, the rest is undecided. And a SC61 turbo, 3" exhaust, dp.
