What do you think of this Gauge Mount?

I am thinking of buying this gauge mount without the shown hood. I will be mounting a wideband O2 gauge in it. Price for the guage mount without the hood in Brushed Aluminum - $30.

in my opinion, it covers up too much of the existing gauge panel. That's just my taste though.

Love it! I saw him post on M.net but his post got deleted or something. I am conisdering buying one myself.

I think it's just the angle the pic was taken that makes it look like it covers up the speedo and tach, although it definitely covers up those lights in the bottom center. I like the simplicity especially if you can cleanly hide the wires.:bigtu:

i like that it will cover my blinking air bag light.
it looks super sleak, how much do you think it will cost?

That is where I read about it, too. Just recieved an email from Stan Levine today, stating the mount is ready for sale. I am thinking of buying one without the hood and powder coating the mount in black. There are some more pics on his web page. http://www.stanlevine.com:80/Miata/MGM/

Quote of email recieved from Stan, dated 13 Feb 07. No affilation with seller.
The Miata gauge mounts are now complete. Here is a link to images of the final product:

I tried to make the mount work with the varying sizes of gauges that are available. Make sure to look over the dimensions of the mount to insure your gauge will fit properly. If you are interested or have other questions please let me know.

Brushed Aluminum - $30
Polished Aluminum - $40

Looks good, good idea, just it covers too much of the instrument panel. Maybe pics at other angles would show us differently.

Al Hounos 02-14-2007 10:44 AM

covers up half the tach and speedo. no thanks. especially when there are perfect, and free gauge mounts in a miata already.

From the pictures it looks like it will only cover maybe a tenth of the speedo and tach. And then only if you are 4 foot 6.

Fritch 02-14-2007 11:32 AM

I like the idea of it, but not crazy on the looks. Think I could come up with something a little different that I'd be more happy with.

Maybe, hard to tell without actually sitting in it in real life. Doesn't change the fact that whatever gauge you put in it isn't nearly as important as the gauges and lights it's sitting in front of.

The gauge, I intend to install in that area will be a Wideband O2. If it blocks the idiot lights, it will be okay with me.

Sticks out like a turd in a punchbowl.

Why would you want the wideband o2 in your face like that? To me, WBO2 should be logged for tuning not to stare at as you drive.

I am open to suggestions. I like my AC vents (live in Houston area). I already have a 2 gauge pod pillar with boost and EGT gauges installed (too lazy to remove gauges). Need an area for wideband gauge to tune (rough) my 91 BRG, once I pickup my car with the new downpipe. Will also be installing a Greddy Pressure sensor and O2 clamp.

Al Hounos 02-14-2007 06:05 PM

Yep, A/F gauges are pointless. Do you have a laptop?
