What the inside of my foot looks like
This is actually kinda cool. They apparently don't shoot X-rays onto film anymore. Instead of the old film cartridge, they put a flat device about 1/4" thick under you which, according to the conversation I had with the radiology tech, is basically a phosphor plate with a built-in reading mechanism. Once they expose the plate, the data is downloaded straight into the computer (no scanning required) and the plate is then erased and re-used. Once it's all said and done, if you request your images they just burn a CD for you which has both the data and a reading program.
Anyway, my left foot, with the Zone of Unpleasantness marked and zoomed: http://img26.picoodle.com/data/img26...em_9bd8822.jpg http://img26.picoodle.com/data/img26...dm_f5b7ce8.jpg You can see the spidery crack transversing the long bone at the base, however it's all still basically together and in the right shape. The debate apparently continues to rage as to whether this is surgical or not. |
that's cool. injury?
