Default What would be your ultimate miata set-up

Hi, just wanted to know what would be your idea of the best time attack build up? I have plenty ideas in regards to weight loss, aero, power etc. But wanted to know what you guys would build as the ultimate time attack miata if you could start from scratch.

Something like this, but in a miata.

I think the ultimate track miata for me is the OGK. It's about as pure as it gets.

Savington's current setup with the boost turned up, making around 350rwhp on some 275 hoo-hoos

Altho that v8rspec is giving me a woody.

let's be realistic here...

any LSD, Torsen most likely, OS Giken preferably
OEM hardtop with Lexan window
gutted trunk/shelf
Corbeau FX1 Pro seats
HDHCHTDD rollbar with harness bar and 5pt harnesses
manual steering
AC delete
airbags delete
FM2 turbokit 265rwhp
Garage Vary tails
Racing Beat Type2 bodykit
Racing Beat tubular front sway
Tein Flex or MonoFlex coilovers
Enkei 14" RPF-1 with Star Specs

Yeah, some other stuff here and there, but that's basically my goal. I have a few of those things but not enough!

Unless someone starts building a time attack car in this thread I'm moving it to the bs section.

Sliderule, your list is...lacking. Your list is pretty much my car and it's in no way a time attack car, much less my dream miata time attack car. There are a few tt miatas out there that have proven themselves worth. So that's what I'd build.

My ultimate Miata setup

I would commission Ferrari to build me a Miata. You know damn right. It would be epic...

My ultimate Miata setup?

The one that gets me the most, cheapest track time in a series that pushes me to be a better driver.

That's what i have now

My current car has 1.6, tdo4h turbo, microtech, 200whp, 15x8's, toyo r888's, carbon fibre roof and doors, stripped of a lot of weight, etc, etc. It was good enough to win the australian time attack under 3 litre mod in 2009. All up it owes me under $15,000.

What i am building soon will be something much more extreme. I pick up the new car ('99 model) in 2 weeks. I am going into a partnership with a friend who owns a performance shop. He and i are going to build 2 cars indentical. I will be doing all the carbon fibre panels and making the moulds (which will be of modified standard panels). And he will be doing the engines and turbo's etc. I can start a build log in a few weeks. We are still in the planning stage.

I am thinking of doing this

And making a crbon fibre floor.

Body like this[IMG][/IMG]

Yeah, totally. Was just pricing out options at autokonexions today... my paint is dead, looking for hood/trunk/mirrors/rear finish.

Melbourne, AU is a big shipping bill just for some CF...

Ultimate Miata... I'd take Sav's car, paint the outside Twilight Blue, the inside white, and throw on my suspension.
