I'm not sure what the gf got me, but there's a lot of good size boxes under the tree! lol

This year I got her a little of everything rather than just one or two big presents. I got her some jewelry (I had to measure her finger while she was sleeping to get her ring size lol), a IP camera so she can check up on the dogs from work, a rock tumbler with a book and accessories, some VS goodies (more for me ), and some other misc stuff.

She's into owls and every once and awhile I get her some owl related present, but this time I made her one. My mom used to have a plaster casting business and still has all the molds. I found an couple owl molds and made her the biggest one I found. Its 20"x14" and weighs 12lbs. I still have to paint one more base coat and then do all the detail work (beak, eyes, sealer). I engraved the back and added a little rebar wall hanger. I think she's going to love it! I hope! lol

My dad has been up and down with everything that's been going on with the company (thankfully things are halfway looking up) and needs to have an awesome Christmas. The family all pitched in and we got him a 1080p Optoma projector with a 120" motorized screen. I hope he ***** on the spot when I drop the screen from the rafters on Christmas.

I'm sure I'll be getting what I get every year, a few polos, a pair of boat shoes, a couple DVDs and a funny t-shirt. My mom always gets me a funny t-shirt.

We don't really do Xmas (maybe a few presents for some step nephews and nieces). I won't buy anything for my wife but she did get me a calendar with guitars on it. Four each month with a description of them and a bit of trivia.

I've been renovating the basement so the wife and I got a new couch and some other boring stuff, in a kick *** new den, instead of gifts for each other.

I did get my 3 cousins (4,6,7) foam swords, so xmas dinner should be entertaining.

Dragunov SVD sniper rifle. The receiver looks similar to an AK-47 but was developed independently.

Yeah, I think it's probably a PSL variant. Basically a Dragunov built by the Romanians.

Not sure what the wife got me but she's usually pretty good at coming up with ideas. I told her she doesn't have to get me anything, because I recently bought myself an 01 motor that she knows about, as well as a transmission that she doesn't know about yet. We'll see how that goes over when the UPS truck arrives next week.

She is getting some nice All-clad cookware and a few other little items that she wanted. I usually prefer to buy things with more practical utility than jewelry, but she incubated our kid for 9 months so this year she will be getting something sparkly from me & the daughter.

Its the Romanian PSL 54C there version of the Russian SVD. I receiver is an AK style but takes the Russian 7.62x54r round same as the svd. I wish i could have gotten a real SVD but there are 3k and more and rare in the USA only 100 got into the USA before they ban them.

My wife got me a big *** OGIO gear bag for my racing gear. Tired of going to the track with three different crappy bags full of my gear.

I got my wife a pair of snow boots, some baby clothes and a book.

We're not quite on the McElwee plan but we try to keep it pretty small.

I never have liked the "obligation" of given or gettings things for christmas or at any time of the year because as you said it is mostlyh crap.

I to am frugal. During christmas people usually get a phone call or a text or a card. I dont expect them to give me any more than that. My family knows I like practical stuff too and usually they will give me a dress shirt or two and some clothing.

I get amazed at how much people spend on things, or just how "shopping crazied" society gets at large. I'd rather spend time with family than give them crap that will give them amusment for a while and get tossed, as well as drain my bank account.

My GF baked cookies and set them as gifts (she's a keeper)

did get the GF a coach bag but her bd is the day after christmas(2 for one) and we dont spend much throught the year. We are a park, outdoors, netflix kind of couple. And of course I got it for tremendous discount. (outlet + 2 different discounts. although I'm not telling her that)
