Default How much is my turn key racecar actually worth?

1990 Silverstone 113k on the chassis:

Its badass, ready to go, track proven. I'm curious what the market is looking like these days. Located in Northern Ca. Since being built, it hasn't had a single issue. The motor has under 300 miles on it. (4 track days) the car has pretty much been sitting with the exception of one track day per year since 2011. My life is steering further and further away from the racetrack and into other things. I just don't use it, and hate seeing it sit.

You brought hustler out of hibernation

do you even know how flattered you should feel?

OG refers to the members, not the thread date.

Bump for awesome guy and excellent race car.

Looks the awesomeness. GLWS.

What's it worth? I dunno. I'd think to ask like $25k and see what happens.

8-10k is my guess to sell it in a reasonable amount of time. If you're really patient (6-12months) you may be able to get 12ish out of it finding just the right buyer. Likely better to part it out.

Way more than 10k. We had a local Miata with a half cage, stock 1.6, etc. Nowhere near as nice as this. and it was about to sell at 10k. Then the seller backed out.

Right on. I disagree with you but who knows. The california market for track only modified miata's is brutal. SPM's with data logging and primo suspension and race winning history sell for 10k +/-. Maybe I'm wrong but you're slicing the market pretty thin with a trailer only car that isn't really legal or competitive in any racing series.

Cars like this sell for 20 FS: 1995 ls6 track miata

Holy **** have you lost your mind? (Edit: guess your market is way different from ours.)

A local car with some nice parts and well sorted and a DIY manifold and cheap turbo just sold for $14k. This is a $20k car easy. EASY.

There are two different types of turbo miatas. One is a car that has a bunch of good parts on it, but may or may not be sorted for track use. My car was that way when I bought it (though borderline). Urbansoot's car is another one like that. They sell for a fraction of what was put into them money wise.

Then you have another sort of car. One that is fully track ready. You buy the car, take it to the track, and thrash on it for days without issue. Twothirds Cobra sold one like that. This is one of those cars and seriously should sell for mid-$20k to the right buyer.

If you'd take $10k for it please send me a PM so I can come pick it up.

I kinda agree with EErock.
Bottom line, y'all have a different market. Way different. It's probably why most of you drive here to CA to buy your cars too.
A track prepped miata has one very good thing and one very bad thing going for it:
good: it's well sorted awesomeness, and worth multiple times the asking price usually, and those "in the know" or actually using it as it was intended to be, get awesomeness for a great deal.
bad: it's not CA legal, which kills 90% of the interest, and plummets the price. the car has to be towed to/from track, etc etc. Most people don't want to deal with that

I could register it to Nevada if that was a deal breaker for someone. This car isn't fun to drive on the street though, you can never truly open it up.

So, Mr. Snowboarder... How much you gonna sell it for?

The wastegate dump is re routed and piped in down the dp, right before the flex tube I believe. This photo is pre wiretuck and pre paint job and unfortunately the only thing I can find on my build thread. It pipes down in the direction of the firewall.
