no more obd1 emissions
my friend who works at Mazda just started his emissions training today,
he was told this
"October 1st 2008 there will be No more 2 speed idle tests, and no more dyno testing for emissions. This means any only OBD2 cars will be having emissions.
can some one confirm this?
if so, this is great for some of us turbo guys

i worded it weird. I dont know what the EVAP test is cuz i dont think I had to do it. (Does obdI use EVAP?) I just know they are going to be do it (or so I hear). On the OBDI the do this test were they pressurize your fuel system to check for leaks or something and it has to maintain a specific pressure

i don't believe that they are testing for fuel tank modifications, but they are rather testing to see if the fuel cap seal is still good because supposedly gas fumes are a danger to the ozone, so they make sure none get out. Same reason your not supposed to keep clicking the gos nozzle when filling up because it lets off more fumes.
And why go to MA where they don't test OBD1 when you could come to SC where they don't test anything?
