Why Asians rice their cars. Serious thread.
 

In this thread I will explain once and for all why Asians rice their cars.
Now for the most part people have their own reasons why Asian people rice out their cars. My belief prior to my revelation for why they rice their cars was because they dont have the money or guts to do go fast mods.

But since visiting China, I have come to a totally different conclusion.

I spent 3 days in mainland China and 5 days in Hong Kong. It is there that I realized just why they rice their cars first vs. going for power mods.

As soon as you get into the city and especially when the sun sets you see exactly why. The attention to detail, to everything is astounding. Parks are lit up in green. Buildings are adorned in thousands of neon lights. Boats are decorated with all sorts of ancient Chinese symbols and patterns. It is this attention to detail, that I have come to understand, that transfers over to their cars.

Now thats just mainland China. Hong Kong is an echelon above this. Buildings are two to three times taller, and the decorations are even more grandiose. The parks and streets in day time are all flawlessly maintained and beautified.

Another example. Look at the Beijing Olympics. I think thats hands down the greatest opening ceremony in history.

Now what does this all mean. It gives you an idea of why they do what they do. Its in their nature to beautify, perfect, and make things eye pleasing(even though some rice is woh nasty).


Yea so I have a new found respect for them, and why they do it.

while I somewhat agree/disagree with that, I can understand where you're coming from.

MOST OF THE TIMES ITS NOT THE ASIANS THAT RICE THEIR CARS, ITS THE MEXICANS/HINDUS/WHITE BOYS/ETC....

seriously, I see at least 5 times more brown folks/white trash with FUCKING ATROCIOUS looking cars than asians. I guess asians started it, but these other guys having no taste or any fucking brains, perfected what we call "rice" :giggle:

Well anyway, the term Rice was synonymous with Asian originally.

Indians dont rice their cars at all, very rare to find an Indian guy with a modified car, whether its just appearance mods or go-fast mods.

I'm gonna have to agree that more white boys rice their cars than asians...but hey, I live in WI, one of the least culturally diverse states in the country.

That's because they were Asian manufactured cars! Japenese bikes and cars have always been called ricer, rice burner, etc. as derogatory terms.

Did the big wing, phony aero, sticker powered, slammed, stretched tire, gawdy paint stuff start with Asian enthusiasts or just with Asian manufactured cars?

Is a dri-ft car with all the gawdy crap everywhere treatment a ricer also? Is it not "rice" because it has performance to go with the tacky looking parts?

No real answers here, just questions.

Maybe just cut off the front bumper skin?
