Why do people do business in coffee shops?
Sitting here listening to a 50 year old milf discuss her divorce, family real estate, going back to school and actual monetary values for all of it...
Topics included: Can I take money from existing my mortgage/student loans to buy myself personal items or more properties? Have coffee shops always served as offices for some people during the day, while I'm stuck in my cube in a real office? |
cause people are retarded.

You know those places at the airport where you can rent a cubicle for an hour? I can't remember the name of the chain, but their slogan was "Peace, Quiet, and a T1 Line."
Starbucks is the version of that for people who don't have real jobs. |
Pics of said MILF/cougar?

panera is worse. theyll quite often take up a 4 person table to surf porn and pretend to do homework/business work.
|
I like to surf the web on my Mac Airbook while I sit at Starbucks because I am such an important person that everyone else should have the privelege of watching me use a computer. If anyone asks, I just tell them I'm a writer so they think I have a job.
|
i seriously wonder how people have ocnvinced themselves that they are more productive when they have constant distractions in an unpredicatble enviroment.
|
Mcdonalds (or McCafe , LMAO) has become the same type of place...but for more "interesting" people. Its disturbing seeing a 40 yr old 300 lb woman with no job sitting in McDonalds in the middle of the week on a brand new laptop surfing the web.

but you can warm yourself on a summer day next to the fireplace!
|
compare the rent you pay to sit at starbucks to do work to the rent you pay in an office building to do work.
then consider how many cute 20 year old baristas work in your office. and if they make you coffee when you demand it. |
Also, lots of government business is conducted at coffee shops conveniently located just a block or two away from the White House or Capitol Hill. Staffers can meet with lobbyists at coffee shops without the lobbyists being required to sign visitor logs that have a tendency to become publicly available. It is important for us sheeple to not know the identities of those people with whom our elected officials conduct federal government business using money confiscated from us.

Building on this comment - you are not allowed to pay for government client's lunches, but coffee is quite legal. Therefore, we do a lot of business in coffee shops.
No visitor log, either. |

Technically, I don't think it's illegal for you to pay for a woman to clip your government client's toenails while they are listening to acid rock and submerged, naked, in a bathtub filled with warm Pepto-Bismol, tripping on cough syrup and pop rocks while several ferrets writhe around in the tub trying to stay afloat.
No visitor log, either. |

Of course, I am one of those people who does business in coffee shops all the time. Referring to actual professionals who have a positive income, coffee shops and paneras are convenient landing zones to meet with coworkers or clients while waiting for, during, or after your next meeting. It beats standing in the parking lot and it definetly beats going back to the office. Oh, you can also expense the coffee, surf web, send email. Coffee shops are much nicer than most meeting rooms and they're also more of a casual environment. Oh and btw most federal lobbist business is not conducted in coffee shops. If the legislative arm of the gvmt is like the rest, at least 80pct is condicted in strip clibs, assuming a 1000pct increase in corruption in our representatives :) |
I just hate the students who pretend it's a great venue to get work done.

I mostly work from home so when the internetz goes out, I head to the coffee shop. I can't stand camping out there and trying to work. Last time I had to do it, I camped out at a Dunn Bros shop that had a few public computers for the customers. One creepy looking dude sat there all fucking day surfing for escorts and guns.

Lol @ the peasants who seek out free wifi because they don't have unlimited wireless cards for their laptops. |

I'm guessing he is an average straight dude. I didn't realize there wasn't any such thing until you pointed it out because I don't ever shop for bras, so I sympathize with him. I can, however, tell the difference between lifter tick, rod knock, and piston slap.
Now who's the homosexual? |

The only reason you alleged heteros wouldn't know cup sizes is if you haven't bought tastelessly skimpy lingerie for a woman before. Trust me, if you buy it, she'll wear it for you. You're welcome. |

Now who's the homosexual? love of cars does not make you straight. intimate love (and knowledge) of titties does. ... so I was in vegas last weekend and went to OG and Sapphire. OG women are fucking pushy! |
^this
Somewhere around the time I learned how to unhook bras with one hand, I became keenly aware of women's cup sizes. |
I always viewed bras as an impediment to be thwarted. It didn't matter what alphanumeric code was assigned to them by a dressmaker; It was keeping me from my goal. Bras, complete with their little sizing labels, belong wadded up on the floor.

Mastery of the one handed bra release is mandatory for a young man by the time he reaches college age, unless he is a drama major.

|
haha ^
I use panera to meet up with my realtor because it's less than 5 min from my house and on the way to work (usually meet with him before I go into work) vs his office which is a 20-25 minute drive on a good day, and is completely out of my way |

I used to work at Panera. I washed the dishes. I liked it because I could listen to uncensored gangsta rap in the back, sometimes toss in a lipper, and even use narcotics out by the dumpster during a trash run. $9 /hour in HS isn't bad.
|
I always go to the library when I have to study because it's usually the day of the exam and I have a massive amount of shit to go over.

I get distracted at home.
Best place for me was the solitary study rooms in the school library where I could shut the glass sliding door behind me and have no noise or distraction. |
I've set up lots of first dates in coffee shops.
