Why does thread locker taste sweet

<p>Is it because sugar gets super sticky when it dries?</p><p>#stupidnotdrunk</p>

next try antifreeze
I hear it's delish

aidandj Sep 13, 2015 04:17 PM

<p>Similar taste actually. Would be hard to differentiate in a blind taste test.</p>

rleete Sep 13, 2015 04:56 PM

MSDS states that blue Loctite contains saccharine. 2% IIRC. This was asked at the factory I was supervising. Makes you understand why they are unskilled factory workers if they are tasting the adhesives.

aidandj Sep 13, 2015 05:01 PM

<p>This was red loctite. Wonder if they taste different.</p>

<p>Lolol. oops. Shania Twain concert tonight. If I break out the moonshine it might be a blind test.</p>

Cracking me up this morning...

You know what tastes the strongest? That high temp oil thread sealant that I use on npt fittings. I think its also the most toxic. Every time I use it somehow I end up tasting it a little? Not sure what's going on there...

Diff fluid doesn't taste QUITE as bad as it smells.

aidandj Sep 14, 2015 11:50 AM

<p>I like that diff and engine oil taste different. makes for figuring out what the leak on my garage floor is.</p>

<p>Threadlocker is so expensive :( I paid $16 for a gel tube at oreilly :(</p>

aidandj Sep 14, 2015 12:06 PM

<p> </p><p>Thats where I get my threadlocker. I use it on taco's when going for a sweet and savory.</p>

Schuyler Sep 14, 2015 12:07 PM

<p>It's all about the gel dude. Still $6 cheaper than oreilly though...</p><p> </p>

aidandj Sep 14, 2015 12:08 PM

<p>Harder to spread on ice cream.</p>

concealer404 Sep 14, 2015 12:09 PM

You shouldn't be spreading ANYTHING on ice cream.

aidandj Sep 14, 2015 12:10 PM

<p>I put thread locker on everything.</p>

Itty Sep 14, 2015 12:55 PM

I'm glad this thread exists. Anybody got any good antifreeze recipes?

Gear oil smells like death, I hate having a diff open anywhere near me. Gahhh.

Burning gear oil is even worse, the folks on the 949Racing 25hour team will agree.

aidandj Sep 14, 2015 12:59 PM

<p>My diff fell over and spilled about a 10sq/ft of gear oil. Cleaned it up with towels, which I then put in the washing machine.....nononono.</p><p>Don't do that. Our clothes smelled like gear oil for weeks. My gf just about murdered me, and won't go anywhere near me after working on a diff.</p>

EO2K Sep 14, 2015 01:10 PM

Oh god, why did you do that?
