Wicked swap. I think I would go with a smaller turbo and just make around 400hp. Would be a retarded street car!

air cooled?
|
Jesus, looks like the racing snail from the neverending story.
|
Is that a RHD?
edit: nevermind, it is...where is that thing? The turbo is not even positioned properly to be mounted, looks like joke or something. |
|
holy crap thats retarded. the idea of it is badass, but when you think: supra's are a pain in the ass to get traction in as is, subtract from that like half the weight, and add like 3 times the horsepower = no traction in any gear ever unless on slicks
|
That will still roast slicks
But I guess if some is good, and more is better, than too much is just right.. or however that saying goes. |
|
you usually i say nothing it stupid bad damn, its hard enough to get traction on a 400rwhp miata let alone that much power and tq
|
i dont understand the rationale behind this. Its much easier to make the same power and torque with a V8 swap, twin turbo if need be.
|
That Yella one looks like a Bullet roadster. Mind you that is not the one of the motors that Bullet normally offer.

wow so old man... that guy posted on miata.net and then never posted again.

That white one lookins like an Aussie MX-5. There is a local club member doing something similar with his. The problem with a V8 (and other forms of FI) is getting it on the road legally here in Aust. As soon as you replace/modify the ECU you are in violation of most states laws. A Nissan based engine in an MX-5, with standard ECU is easier to comply than a OEM engine with replacement/modified ECU. Yes you can get away without getting complied, but if you are caught you the car is taken off the road until compliance can be proven. J |

Please Hustler, any more info? Thanks |
crazy swap, i like the Japanese guys who did the rb25dett in a miata
|

Any LSX series swap uses the stock LSX ECU and gets you 350+ to the wheels. And you can flash the stock ECU to pass pretty much anything that comes out of the OBDII port aside from proper tuning. I don't get where a Nissan based swap would gain you anything.
Frank BTW can someone change the name as that is not a 2jz, its a 1jz. I do remember when the guy first posted, he said that the motor fit in without cutting the stock subframe, now he never posted photos, but I do know the 1jz come in both mid and rear sumps. I know he said he was using the 1jz out of a supra which means rear sump. If you search on M.net for 1jz you can find the few post the guy made, but he never posted anything after the first few photos. He did say he was not using a standard tranny but I believe a turbo 350. |
What magazine is that with the yellow one?

Im confused. Are you saying that a car with an LSx can pass emissions?
So my LS6 from an '01 'Vette is actually going to be controlled by an '04 GTO ECU/wiring harness in my '01 Miata. Frank |
