Navy? (I'm about 4 hours away, so unless that meet is really cool, I'm a no-show...sorry)

levnubhin 05-06-2011 07:14 PM

Yes, I'm in the Navy.

Right down the road, literally. Good timing, you can help me build my shop. :) Not really involved with the local miata scene though. Base housing?

y8s 05-06-2011 07:50 PM

brainy and I would let you drive the 3.5 hours to come visit. hell, lars would drive 12

ismael_pt 05-06-2011 08:05 PM

12? It will take less time for me even with an ocean to cross. I thought VA was smaller.

y8s 05-06-2011 08:53 PM

we're in the northern part of VA and lars lives in the southern part of SC and there's only one trafficky highway (and smaller ones)

So did you get helos like you wanted?.... what platform? If Hawkeyes or CODs I will shit!

Anyways, as a single airman, you may not be allowed to live out in town unless you're married. Based on deployment sked, you may be going to a squadron at sea within a few days/weeks of graduation. Any idea what squadron yet... I can find out what's up.

kotomile 05-06-2011 11:31 PM

Keep your FL home of record (if that's what it's called in the Navy too) for tax and inspections purposes, bro.

Hope your move goes smoothly.

Yes I got helos, I'm going to HSC 84. It looks like I'll be working on Seahawk's according to the website I found on Google. I'm FTS and that is supposed to be a reserve squadron. Any info you can come up with would be greatly appreciated. I am married so I will need info on off base housing. From what I hear on base housing have year long waiting lists.

Thanks man, I'll definitely be keeping my Florida home on record. No state tax and emission tests FTW.
