I don't read books like this.
I read text books or entire encyclopedia volumes.
My favorite, and the one I find most comical, is the D section from the 1984 "The New Book Of Knowledge" encyclopedia. It is filled with a lot of useful information such as distillation illustrations and diving techniques.
However, I'm sure that if I bought that book for my wife, she would get sucked into it just as fast as she did with any book published by Stephanie meyer.
