the "stimulus" checks are a fucking terrible idea, since the money is borrowed.

johndoe 05-04-2008 03:20 PM

So is this money a gift? Oh I see, you're giving me money now that I'm going to have to pay back in taxes later. Yup, that makes sense... This coulped with McCain and Hillary's proposed "gas tax holiday" should straighten us right out... :crx:

Dump on me if you want. When ours shows up, no toys for me. $600 to the Lincoln Food Bank, $600 to the People's City Mission.

It's about some politicians banking on people being retarded and trying to get votes out of them before people realize they just fucked themselves in the ass, essentially.

The way my econ professor explained the gas tax holiday is that each family ends up saving $2 per fill-up instead of millions of dollars in highway repairs being done.

Oh, and I didn't make enough money for the stimulus package :giggle:

A terrible idea in the aspect of stimulating the economy. A great idea for giving me my freaking money back.

I have 5 gas stations on my block. there is always a line at the Sunoco, as they are always 5-10c cheaper than the rest. I personally go to the one with the shortest line.

3.50 x 15gal = 52.5
3.60 x 16gal = 54.0

Ben 05-05-2008 11:17 AM

That's the thing. They're not giving you shit. You're basically forcibly taking a $600 loan against yourself. You are the one who's going to pay the interest on it. The $600 will end up costing thousands.

and I read an article that the federal interstate repair fund was also cut dramatically recently.

Lol that is how they do it every time. As usual, pick the lesser of two evils and deal with it
