Default To wrap my manifold or not?
Just wondering what you guys would do? I got a new manifold from ARTech and have some header wrap I could use on it. My Dad was saying leave it bare for heat dissipation or whatever. Here's some pics.

NO.
1) Dont cover up that sexy manifold.
2) It wont do anything for performance.
3) Itll probably make it crack.

That's quite a tongue twister.

I vote no, only because it's pretty useless. BUT, if you already have the wrap, I'm with the why not crowd.

iif i wrapped the DP i would only do it near the brake booster and master cylinder

On the Racing mazda dp, FM3 dp, and now my ARTech dp, I kept the wrap up toward the top only.

Every other time I did it I put it on dry, but this time I soaked it and put it on wet and it was much easier to work with.

just wash your arms with cold water after... the fiberglass flys everywhere when you do it.


I wrapped my downpipe and my heater lines and you can touch them coming in from having beat the car.

I did and would recommend it, but I would also be interested in knowing what temp will wrap cause a manifold to crack/start cracking?

I would leave it alone. stainless does not conduct heat anywhere near as much as mild steel.

Thanks for all the opinions guys. Looks like I'll be leaving it bare. Gonna wrap my downpipe for sure though. Hmmmm, now what do I put this header wrap on....

Alright, I finished it up and figured I'd show you guys the finished product. The car runs great and sounds even better than before. Big thanks to ARTech! Next is MS. I'm installing my AEM WB next week. Here's the pics
