Default wrenching gloves - these are worth a try (NWS link)

The girlfriend won’t let me handle her goods if my fingernails are crusty and impacted with grease. I don’t really blame her, I guess. So I force myself to wear gloves when wrenching. Previously I used the nitrile proctologist gloves but I’d go through a pair every hour, plus my hands would sweat badly.

Now, these are badass:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=97404

1) mesh back keeps hands from sweating
2) thin enough so you can still handle small fasteners with decent dexterity (if they fit tightly enough)
3) thick enough so you can handle hot parts
4) tough and last for many many hours of wrenching
5) easier to get on/off than the nitrile gloves
6) cheap enough to be semi-disposable.

Their only limitation is they’re not good for use with solvents due to the mesh back.

For general working, I like used flight gloves. They breathe and are thin, they are also fire resistant nomex and leather. At $5 a pair they are hard to beat.

I also use them for driving when I need to either also wrench, or I'll be needing to take them off and on alot, since the alpine stars are such a tight fit.

my gf likes the dirty fingernails.

but the double-thickness nitrile work well. sweat or no sweat. at least sweat washes off.

it really depends on the job though.

for greasy nasty sticking the finger in motor oil: nitrile
for dusty dirty routine stuff: mechanix or same.

You could simplify things and wear the nitrile gloves before you poke her in the cooch.

Poor Bruce, I'm sure someone did the "right-click save-as". I doubt they'll admit it though.
