First trip with boost leak and overheating.
I got the car together. And wasn't planing on driving it much till I could make sure everything was straightened out. Well, a family member past away and I had to go. The red miata has no tags or inspection litterally. And my truck needs brakes.
I figured well I guess I'll get some tunning in. Well, cruise is now tuned in.
And then it started getting warm. Not hot, but way warmer than normal.
The intake temps were great at 97-103. I figure it is due to timming.
Then the butt kicker. Boost raised super fast and then stopped at 2psi. I pulled over and found a hose clamp that was loose, and a vacume line that had half sliped off. Now it goes to 3-4 psi. I just babied it the next hr home.
And I had to drive with the A/C off to keep the car cool.
If the timming doesn't cool things down. I'm installing a new radiator.

I assume you mean timing...I'd try sealing the radiator/intercooler to the mouth of the car before buying a new radiator. Why not try the cheaper alternative first? I and others have had great success doing this. For instance, I drove to and from NY to TN this weekend 12 hours each way averaging 80mph with the A/C blasting the whole way, and getting into boost fairly often. Temps never went over 190F. If the car is going to be heavily tracked that of course changes things. But for a street/autocross car I don't think there's a need for a bigger rad.

This car will see little track time. Mabe 2-3 days a year.

I haven't rerouted it yet.
My other Miata is stock water routing and not IC. I drove it from florida Florida with no troubles.
Once Hustler gets his together in a few weeks I may do one. I want to see one in person & work up a game plan.

I put my rad shroud and undertray back on. HUGE difference. After a hard drive I can pop the hood and it's only warm. The surfaces like the radiator or valve cover are hot, but the air around them isn't. My post intercooler charge pipe is only warm because of the hot air the radiator was blowing on it. Before I put those on when I popped the hood I had to step back. If your radiator isn't sealed it needs to be.

I've checked everything. Still leaking boost. My bov was loose as could be. I tightened it up. I guess I'll tighten it up more.
When I first installed the bov it chattered. Now the release is more crisp. I'll check it again.

I rechecked and tightened everything. I went for a drive and boost went to 4psi. And then dropped. And rechecked the IC lines and there it was. The rubber tubing had finnally blew a hole big enough for me to find.
Or lets say it blew out bad. I'm going to have to tie it up better. I think it must have caught some debri in the road. I swirved & dodged chunks of crap all over the highway.
