I can't believe it. I understand people always trying to outdo others but that's a bit much. Atleast it doesn't have those queer clear wheels.

LunaticDriver 03-26-2007 11:53 AM

Thats Tiiiiiiigggghhhhhhtttt Son!

MX_Eva 03-26-2007 11:55 AM

Honestly how the hell do you even get into that car? It looks like you could honestly roll it trying to pull yourself in.

It doesn't even look like he's using tires anymore, it looks like the Re-Tread that truckers put on their tires. Which btw they are trying to out-law because they fall off on the road and truckers don't car to stop and take care of it, it litters the road and it causes accidents as either people run over em or swerve to avoid them as they see them at the last minute.

Splitime 03-26-2007 11:58 AM

I've had a lip and exhaust sheilds owned by retreads before... and know many people with their fair share of retread damage. I hate them...

On that note... I hate the idiotic trend portrayed in the first picture.

Ben 03-26-2007 12:15 PM

yeah that probably rides real nice.

F20turbo 03-26-2007 12:30 PM

spike 03-26-2007 01:29 PM

Does anyone have pictures of these stupid things flipped on it's side from taking a corner too fast?

VRTSid 03-26-2007 02:44 PM

this shit has to stop. goddamn it

y8s 03-26-2007 03:12 PM

no more need for a lift ftw.

UofACATS 03-26-2007 03:42 PM

and we can call it the "back to the future car" has the helicopter blades on the wheels, have it hover and then flip the wheels out and fly awaY!!!!

they are throwback to 70s-early 80s mercedes aftermarket wheels.

Don't even want to know how much those spinners would weight. I would imagine them being very dangerous--like the saw blade rims the bad guys in James Bond movies had. :gay:

MX_Eva 03-26-2007 07:50 PM

In a 235/0/32?

You could totally keep the drive shaft strait in that, you'd just have to angle the motor mounts and make more of a ...sling for the tranny.

There must be some damn stupid hoes to encourage men to do this. I can't imagine anyone getting laid because their car looks like that.

Also...how the hell does that shit not get stolen? I mean besides the fact that even if I was stealing it I wouldn't want to be seen in it. However, the point remains, what garage can fit that?

The centrifugal force would be sweet.

The guy near that purple ride with the kit is pretty gangsta. Looks like a cool car show. :)

See the lambo doors? Pretty awesome.

Savington 03-27-2007 12:31 AM

Those are 40" wheels.

As much as some of us thinks it looks dumb, I really admire the work that goes into making those things fit. Anyone look at the car itself? When was the last time you saw that particular car in such good condition?

miatamania 03-27-2007 12:36 AM

There is a reason they aren't very many in good condition...

Flippy02 03-27-2007 01:09 AM

i don't see springs or anything whats holding it up?

The fabwork to do that is pretty impressive but I feel incredibly wasted.
I'm more fond of fabwork put to good use like lovefab turbo manifolds and ariel atom frames not the worlds ugliest hoopty.

Looks to me there are some sort of leaf spring there, but i'm not sure.

akaryrye 03-27-2007 01:30 AM

trends are wierd ... I used to thing stupid things were cool, so i dont care if other people think stupid things are cool either. I just hope that one day (like I did) they will feel stupid for their folly and find a better way to waste their money.

hustler 03-27-2007 07:19 AM

i wonder if he has enough clamping force to stop the wheel?

Agreed :)... except for it being impressive fabwork... useless work to me, just negates any skill used.

i noticed that too. maybe they got the biggest size and sawed off the sidewalls.

Braineack 03-27-2007 01:16 PM

ahhh, it's all explained here:

http://www.cardomain.com/features/donks

Let's start with the most obvious. The suspension. Upon the conception of this new trend builders were using lift kits to fit 24s under the fender. Let's face it though, bigger is better, right? In order to go bigger, you need to think bigger. Hence, builders evolved their building techniques to incorporate suspension technologies of monster trucks.

they say the rotational force is the same because the wheel is spinning slower :ugh2:

If he'd just run some hydraulics to tilt that baby into the corners he'd be the bomb. When you drive a car that looks like that who cares about the comfort and safety of brakes and suspension. Who hasn't seen plenty of civics and minitrucks bouncing down the freeway with no give or damping in the slammed suspension.

Splittime. What's the name of that car in your pic. I saw them review that on top gear. Guys face was pealing off driving it. Insane piece of equipment.

MX_Eva 03-27-2007 04:09 PM

It's the Ariel Atom. (ariel being the name of the company).

Ok, so I use honestly too much =P

Still don't know where he keeps it at night or how he gets into it. Or what hoes sleep with him for having such a refined and smooth taste in vehicles.

y8s 03-27-2007 04:35 PM

I knew I'd seen those wheels somewhere. It was the limited edition CAT 797 hooptie edition.
