$249 before shipping and tax. Probably not the deal of the century, but this won't end up being a true budget build. I don't have the time or ability to hunt out used deals and started the bulk of the shopping post-Newtown.

I don't know anything about CORE15 or their products, but $250 for an NB coated BCG is pretty much pre-newton price far as I remember.

Took a trip to Cabela's today:

Sorry for the blurry picture. That's Herter's (TulAmmo) 5.56 at $6.99 a box. No thanks, about $2.00 higher than it should be, plus they have a limit of 5 boxes total centerfire (which is why they still have some, I'm sure.) I bought 10 boxes of 7.62x39 for my AK on that trip. Once you leave the building you're a new customer....

Ordered on January 15 2013, arrived April 18 2013. Look at all these dead children!

So now I have 26 30 round AR15 magazines and 2 AR15s. How much are these things going for on Guntrader NIB? I could use some $$$$.......

^ with the recent failure of the most recent bill, probably not much more than retail would be my guess. Well at least that is my hope.

That pic of the Herters stuff is un-*******-believable. The local Walmarts/Dicks/BassPro, and all the LGS's in town are still out of damn-near everything.

For work today, we took a trip out to an Army training facility south of Richmond... stopped for gas and there was an LGS next door. He had everything except 22/9/223 for reasonable prices (only about 20% high). I bought 3 boxes of #4 buck because I haven't seen buckshot in any flavor for months in town... paid $5.50 per box.

Should be getting my shipping notice ANY GOD DAMNED DAY NOT for my 10pk of PMAGS ordered from Brownells on 24Dec. Also still have an order in to DSG for a 10pk ordered 23January.

Screw you, I'm waiting on my Holiday Pack that I ordered on 12/30/2012.

Let me guess, you ordered the non-windows? So did I. Apparently the window mags have been shipping out for weeks now.

Ugh. PLEASE NO ONE EVER BUY FROM CHEAPER THAN DIRT!!! They are a disgusting business and hide behind the guise of supporting the second amendment all the while using this scare and trying to feed the fire to line their pockets.

Just received an email from them "Get your AR-15 before the Government takes them!". With great deals like $1850 for a $850 AR.

Blah Blah Blah Capitalism and what not... NO I don't care about the free market and capitalism any more in this context. I am disgusted with this company. They claim to support the fight for the second amendment, all the while jacking their prices beyond reasonable and profiteering with all this stuff going on in the senate.

I feel the same way.

Honestly, I've felt this way since the beginning when people started taking advantage of other gun enthusiasts just to make a buck. "Free market Capitalism" doesn't exist in the gun world far as I'm concerned, but that's just like, my opinion, man.

How bad did I do?

Used Palmetto State 16" M4 (super clean - looks new)
Telescopic buttstock and pistol grip (not installed)
SSAR-15 OGR slidefire installed
Cheap *** reflex red dot (no rear sight)
3 x 30 alum mags
KCI 100 round drum

$1200

I wanted to build something but it seemed like at $1200 I wasn't getting ripped off too bad. I posted an ad on armslist for the rifle (without the SSAR or 100 round drum) and a tactical bag for $1050 but no calls yet. I think the market will be super saturated with ARs very soon but if I could end up with the $360 SSAR and $200 drum mag for $150 total out of pocket (+ $30 for a tac bag to sell with the rifle) I would be happy. I've never owned an AR so I thought I would ask you guys. Keep the PSA M4 or sell it (maybe drop the price another $50 or $100) and build something in a couple of months when the prices drop through the floor?

BTW, it has been a while since I posted here but I thought you guys might want to see a pic of my Mosin collection (yep, OCD is a terrible thing). I've got 28 spam cans of ammo to go with them:
