Nope. I have large hands for a person my size.
Without the scope and the standard DPMS charging handle and release I could get plenty of purchase with my left thumb and index finger on the charging handle. Add in the scope and I can't because of the proximity to the charging handle, and can't use index and middle finger like Stoner "designed" because of the scope width.
The ability for my meat hooks to get 100% purchase on the charging handle was the best $9 I ever spent. Its a bench gun anyway. With the composite lower receiver and full magazine it weighs 13.3 pounds.
Aight, this piece of **** application isn't going anywhere and I've got a bridge to open with Dev in 4 hours to fix it.. I'm out.

Also MASSIVE +1 to rmc on the Walther P22... Really fun guns and the barrel is pre-threaded. All you need is an adapter and suppressor and you have a fun little toy that is cheap to shoot and hearing friendly. Those things are pellet gun quiet when suppressed by the way...
My dad has a cheap *** Hi-Point .45 that I am going to borrow and try to turn in to a decent gun. I haven't researched what kind of mods you can do to it but there should be some way to make it a nice shooter. I doubt if I'll ever use it as much as the .22LR because it would be too expensive to plink with.

Jesus!!
I need to get a P22. Should have picked up the matched combo P22/PK380 when I bought my 380. The bummer about the PK380 is no threaded bbl available, no obviously easy way to thread barrel. Really wanted to suppress that pistol too.

I'm thinking about selling the 18" sawed-off pistol grip and getting something with a little more utility for the house and my GF who's moving to Houston. I'm thinking about a Moss 5600 24" with a long-loader, light attachment, heavy butt-stock, and a strap. I want her properly equiped for the first month or two when she could live alone considering she's 5'2" and 110lb.
Thoughts?
edit: I'm also considering loading that bitch with the combo shot/slug shells.

I don't trust "our" aim with a pistol under pressure, in the middle of the night. The long gun gives much better aim, easier to fire multiple rounds, more rounds with the long-loader, an you can jab in close quarters, and in a worse-case scenario a but to crush skulls with. Also, the light is the number 1 accessory that I want on my firearm when dealing with an intruder, and I don't know of an light-attachment for a shorty.

Do they make an extended barrel for it? If so, you can have it threaded... That's what I have done on my Beretta M9A1 currently. Just make sure it is threaded to be bore concentric rather than barrel concentric. Otherwise you will end up with a nice hole in your suppressor.

Edit: Upon looking, it appears that they are like the P22 only they are not pre-threaded. One could thread the existing barrel and then fab an adapter for the suppressor like that of the P22. Just what I was able to find with a little looking around on the Google.

00 Buck is overrated for home defense, a carbine is way better. Just buy an AR-15, become familiar with it and keep it loaded. No, the 5.56 won't go through your drywall and kill all of your neighbors in a single hit. The shotgun isn't some magical brush that paints your targets with death wherever you wave it. You still need to be able to aim properly.
There's a reason why LOLOPERATORS don't use shotguns for more than just blowing open a door. I'm not an operator, you are not an operator, your girlfriend is not an operator. Get an AR.

As pusha said... Get comfortable enough with anything that you would plan to use in a high intensity situation so that when it does happen you will be prepared. The nice thing about a shotgun that is appealing to most users is the spread on the projectiles. However, if only a few make contact due to poor aim then all you are going to do is **** the person you shot with it off. Also not closing the chamber fully as stated would be another problem. Hope you never need to be in that situation, but familarity with the weapon is the number one priority for me before even shooting it for the first time. I'm sure that the situation could be simulated if some thought were put into it. I mean, you are in Texas afterall. Haha

I agree 100%. Pump action is a bad idea under stress. If it HAS to be a shotgun get an automatic.
Really, get an AR or AR variant.
This is a Keltec PLR-16 which accepts M4/AR magazines and will fire 223/5.56 and has 30 round capacity in a single magazine.
If you're really worried about collateral damage, try frangible rounds. Bought a box of 50 at a gun show for $15.00. training. training. training.
Edit: LOL @ his poor attempt to photoshop out the forward vert grip.. Don't add one of those.

I will check with my buddies tonight when I go over to their shop after work for some brews. Shoot me a PM to remind me around 4PM.

Actually one of my buddies here at the gun store found this... http://www.tornado-technologies.com/services.html They make a barrel for it. $200 Scroll down to the Walther portion.
"Walther PK380 - Extend and thread, includes thread protector.(threaded 1/2-28 or 13.5mmx1LH) $200"

If you aren't going to be able to trust your aim under pressure, do not think for a second that you'll be able to operate a pump shotgun properly. Sure, its design is simple but its proper operation requires you to FULLY cycle it. "Under pressure" do you really think you'll be able to do this? I sure don't think you or your girlfriend will based off your description.
