Specs on Garand? I regret not buying one through the CMP before prices went through the roof.

Got mine thru CMP many years ago. Manufactured in October 1942. Almost as old as I am, but in much better shape.

CMP rifles are out of sight these days. It's now easier to just buy a SA M1A and have, I daresay, a more "practical" rifle.

As much as I hate them, I want to buy a cheap 1911 for a little project I'm working on. Anyone know of any decent offerings in the $500 range?

There is a gun show coming up here pusha... I will keep an eye out. Manufacturer matter on it? Compact or full-size?

So here's the story:

I've been shooting my old Colt Sporter Lightweight a lot lately but I think I wanna start shooting either a LE6920 or the LE6940 my old man bought me when they were released. The 6940 has never been fired and neither have any of the 6920s.

What to do?

But the 6940 has rails which would probably deter me from keeping it around because, God forbid it needs to be used, the jury would hear about how evil and geared toward world destruction its design is.

Fine, since no one wants to guess what my new toy is, I'm just going to tell you. It's a coupon redeemable for one *free* Sage EBR stock.

So I've got the M1A National Match, the M1A Socom 16 and the full LRB M14 but now I'm feeling the need to get a little EBR in my life.

Should I start with a regular M1A or Scout Squad? 22" barrel vs. 18" barrel. Since I'll be ditching the forward rail system if I were to pick up the Scout, is it worth it?

18" is plenty of barrel for .308 so I dunno :/

***OR*** Should I just say **** it and buy a SCAR 17 like a *****?

I'll see what you all have to say about this: I'm looking into a .308 and it has come down to the

DPMS LR-308B I think the 12lb 24" barrel model (LR-308) will be too heavy
Herstal FNAR
Rock River Predator HP

Anyone have anything to say about these as far as quality or which you would buy and why?
