I actually prefer the Gen 4 Glock ergonomics over the old ones. I never could get comfortable with the Gen 3, but once I held a Gen 4 I decided to finally convert to Glock. Maybe it's a big "man hand" thing Pusha wouldn't get...

Sam:

Do not pay $400 for a Sub2K. I got mine just under $300. Had to go over the whole show twice, but worth it. Having a fun gun and saving that extra price difference between it and the Cx4. Hell, I saw HiPoint carbines going for nearly what I paid for what I consider a much better gun.

Definitely one of my more satisfying purchases. Wait for the gun.

So I spent the entire time shooting and forgot to take pictures. That said, star targets are fun and properly sized ones turn appliances into fun targets.

I also joined the AR club, have to go back to pick it up, so no pics yet. It is definitely on the tacticool side... But the price I paid basically covers the upgrades and the AR becomes free It should make a great indoor/outdoor range toy.

I'm with ya on that. I'll hold out for my price. Buds has had them listed NOT IN STOCK forever for $280, but I bet there are a couple thousand people with email notifications when they get some in stock. I just love that you can pick your magazine compatibility... Glock is the only choice for me. It'd give me a reason to pick up a cheap G19/17 police trade-in and a case of 33rd magazines.

There's a gunshow at the Norfolk Scope this weekend that I'm not holding any hope for... but if I can find a KelTec PF-9 for the low $200's I might grab one. I also need a case for what I just bought...

I actually just bought 2 Maverick 88's from Buds, $414 shipped for what amounts to Mossberg 500's with a crossbolt safety. I bought one for the bedroom and one for the garage for my pending move to New Orleans, pure home defense. They should be here Thurs.

Still VERY much want a Taurus Judge. One of my buddies just got a new Sig 1911 he wants to go shoot so I think I'll rent a Judge when we're there and see if I can do anything with it.

Contrary to popular belief, pump shotguns aren't the best thing for home defense. The sub-2000 would be a better buy if you can find one.

The Taurus Judge is garbage. You should mail me $400 and I'll send you the sock that I just used to wipe my ***; it'd be about as effective.

Details on the bought not built (very un-me) AR once I have it home.
Rough details until I break it down to check for other upgrades:
DPMS Panther Lite 16 .223/5.56
Full quad rails
Aimpoint CompM4
Co-witness flip up metal sights
Vltor stock
Unknown Flash Supressor (2" long cylinder, inside ramps from barrel outlet to large end opening)
Full (new?) Digital camo dip (tacticoooool bro!)
Magpul mag
Surefire flashlight w/mount
front grip with bipod dealy...

Camera phone snap from the day I finished paperwork

Total price: Less than all the accessories added up. A healthy amount less. Especially with the dip job.

Those shotguns were $200 each. I'll put about 50rds through them next week during my yearly "go-to-Texas-and-make-noise" trip just to make sure they were assembled correctly and work, and they may not get fired again for years. They'll sit until needed.

There are a lot pro's to a shotgun for HD. Assuming your aim is accurate, you're almost certainly going to kill whoever you hit with it the first shot anywhere center-mass. There is a certain fear factor with them, and they are very simple to operate. They double as a striking weapon if you run out of ammo, and they can be modified to taste. I would back up a shotgun with a pistol, but the shotgun would be primary.

I love the idea of the Sub2000 as a good HD weapon... 34rds of 9mm+P whatever that should have the ballistics of a .357mag out of that much barrel... small form factor and reliability area plus. You can keep it folded in the nightstand next to a romance novel and your lube too. Nothing really to dislike. On the other hand, I see many advantages that a standard .4X caliber semi-auto pistol would have over a pistol-caliber carbine with zero disadvantages.

The Taurus would be mostly for fun. I wouldn't carry one and none of my friends have one. If I found one for like $350 it might be fun to try.

Really? I kinda liked the idea of the .40 over the 9mm, but if the longer berral really makes that kind of difference then I don't see the point in the .40 so much.

Gotta show her roughed up giant man hands from pushing 400 on the bench.

If not slap her around a bit.

****. I walked the entire RK show last Saturday afternoon and found exactly ONE Sub2k in the entire building, it was used and took S&W Magazines for $299. I was pissed.. Before I set out to buy one they had 'em at EVERY show.. I've fingered about 20 of them in total, now they're nowhere to be found.

Called every dealer in town and found ONE ******* who said he had one in 9mm.. I asked if it was Glock and he puts me on hold, comes back and said Sig.. Almost drove off a bridge at that point.
