Trey, I am particularly fond of these Bianchi soft cases:

They just get a little dirty sometimes.

Just buy a pelican case and cut your foam with a hotwire.

Oh **** green slide!!!

I might send this gun off for a few things later this year...and if I do, it will come back green. That is basically the most baller **** I've seen in my life.

My Boss' new CZ P-01.

He called for days to get it, then found it in this green color. I like it. This gun is about the same price as my M&P but feels like it was cut from a billet rather than forged. The tolerances are tight as hell, the slide probably cannot be pulled by a woman, and it has some weight to it. There is no slop in the slide lock or decocker and these lever are machined rather than stamped. You can shake my pistol and it will make some noise. Not this CZ, it definitely feels like a higher-level of craftsmanship. I don't know how it shoots yet, but we're going to go shoot it in his "closet" at lunch.

No, they usually 'open carry' here in CA. They will put me in jail and try to convict ME of murder in this state if I kill someone in a self-defense incident with a concealed weapon & no CCW permit. My county has some of the most retarded carry laws you can imagine. I ******* hate the gov't out here but love the landscape. Such is life. Obviously your local laws will dictate your particular carry/transport methods.

Oh poor you... able to still carry.

-from the last state in the US with 0 allowance for carry in ANY form (beyond unloaded and in a bag/container/lockbox etc...)

Texas glory:
http://www.texasgunlaws.org/chap9.htm

I still need to brush up on the legalities of deadly force in regards to protecting my property (cars) at an apartment lot and in a detached garage. My initial assesments suggests that I should expect some time in court if I choose deadly force when protecting property outside the walls of my home. It's pretty unfortunate too because I have a crow's-nest of a patio that overlooks my parking spot and garage door. Maybe it's time to get a silenced semi-auto rifle in case two thieves decide to work in tandem to keep surprise on my side.

No kidding. Chicago and Masstatushits are worse, I will say that. Good to know all those police are out there on every corner, 24hrs a day to protect you. Amirite?!

I hope Romney's vision for America differs from his home state substantially.

I know, it's probably worse than you thought since I'm considering that I'll also need some sort of sub-sonic or limited penetration ammo to prevent damage to the vehicles.

No way will I return mine, its a range gun. I'll get the P_01 for concealed carry. The build quality is absurd.

Received an odd text from a friend the other day..

He works for a company in Florida that developed some crazy coating for firearms which basically negates the need to ever lubricate important parts of the weapon. He sent me that picture of 146 coated AR15 bolt carriers and 186 coated M16 carriers that the boss didn't like the machine finish on.

That's where they all ended up. I'm like What the **** man!? He had to drop the hint (asking for my mailing address) of a complete BCG prototype he wanted to send me for Christmas! Decided I'm going to build a carbine to throw that BCG in and don't ever plan to clean or lube any part of the rifle. They've got an in house M249 in shop with over a million rounds through w/out clean or lube and some video of an M16 which was buried in the sand for several days, dug up, shook off, loaded and fired without malfunction.

This is my complete BCG on his desk which he shipped out today. Can't wait!!

Started watching a show the other day called "White Collar." The episode I saw tonight which was supposed to be the gun used to assassinate someone:

Ruger MKII with Tactical Solutions Paclite threadded upper, a very tiny suppressor, and some crazy little red dot. With the correct ammo that'd be a pretty good firearm to kill someone with in close quarters I guess.. It'd be hella quiet at least.

I don't know if I would go around mentioning taking shipment of a bolt carrier on the internet unless you or he has an FFL. Or at least mention it went through an FFL.

A BCG is classified as a part. The only part of an AR that needs to go through an FFL is the receiver. Everything else can be bought without the gubmint' getting involved. What he did is perfectly legal.

Good to know, just didnt want anyone getting into trouble. Thanks for clarification. So does receiver contain firing pin? Im trying to understand exactly what makes a part require govment intervention.

Usually it's whatever part of the frame or grip that has the serial number.

Some observations today:
  • My M&P9L is awesome. Its the straightest I've ever shot with any of the guns I've borrowed or rented. I'm super happy about the purchase.
  • I rented a Springfield 1911...holy **** that's a man's gun. Boooooooooooooom
  • P22 w/ silencer...why is this so cool? Seriously, why is it so much fun?
