And got permission to self sort range brass before it goes to scrap. Only costs me scrap rate, hooray!

Now to find a good mask to keep myself alive through the process.

Give it a few more months. It's been made clear that the votes aren't there in Congress to pass an AWB or mag-limit bill right now. In a few months, when the furor dies down considerably more, there will probably be a pretty large supply of stripped lowers for regular prices.

And with every manufacturer working overtime now, I wouldn't be surprised if you saw some "buy 2, get one free" fire sales on stripped lowers come April/May. I know a lot of guys who fully intend on buy a dozen stripped lowers as soon as they're back to being $100... and I'm not sure how that's going to affect the market when those types of guys get their dozen, and then don't need anymore ever again. Shoot... I remember when I saw Stag blemished B-stock for sale for like $65ea one day... **** me if I'd only known. Never again. I want a crate of PMAGS, a stack of lowers, and enough parts to build a dozen basic rifles for the next crisis... or for my kids... or for the zombies.

I take back my April/May timeframe... we're gonna start see prices on stripped lowers come down within a couple weeks.

The panic-buying is over, and I think people who really want some will just wait. When you see "hundreds in stock"... kinda defeats the purpose of charging double or triple since there obviously isn't a supply problem. The rest of the parts are gonna be tough now... especially barrels.

Yah, that lower in stock at my local shop for 189. I think I found threads with them being sold for under 70 in the past. It's retail price... so my shop isn't technically gouging which is nice.

Good, Hopefully my 300AAC will show up soon.

Kinda funny, I hadn't realized until today that Jan 15th 2012 I ordered my M4 upper, fast forward exactly one year and I ordered the 300AAC upper from the same company on the same day.

The m4 upper took one month to the day to arrive, so hopefully the new one will show up in March or April? Still no magazine shipment from Brownells yet.

I'm still on the lookout for barrel, BCG (bolt carrier group), lower parts kit and a couple of other major components if anyone finds them in stock somewhere. I'm signed up on a couple of different email notification sites but don't have time to camp out on the AR-15 sites all day (and most would be blocked from my main point of workday internet access).

I don't know a lot about AR parts, but your rifle looks SUPER ergonomic from pics alone. Like I want to hold it, now lol. Nice build, especially with the custom touches.

Lead safe respirator = check
Shell sorter trays = check
Used vibratory cleaner = check
Bucket = Check

Making your own automated sorting system.... getting scrap price access to brass... getting dirty(?)... = win

Went to a buddies place today right outside of the city and burned a few 9mm and 40s&w rounds away. Experienced the very first malfunction of my Keltec PF9 after running about 750 rounds through it in total! The problem was caused by one of two things; I have not cleaned or lubricated the gun in about 6 months yet have fired approximately 190 rounds through it anyway. After a failure to eject and stove pipe on one magazine I asked my friend to let me inspect the pistol. Racking the slide I noticed it was dragging quite a bit which would explain those two failures. Stripped it down and added a couple drops of lube to the rails, cycled the action a few times and pumped 3 more magazines through without a hiccup.

Everything we fired through it at this point were fairly light reloads that I've cooked up (115gr FMJ w/~4gr of Alliant Unique) and the pistol was ejecting the casings approximately 4 feet to the right of the shooter. Decided I wanted to rotate the stock of some ammo I've been carrying (Sierra 125gr JHP w/5.3gr Alliant unique) so I squeezed off 4 rounds. Had 3 people spotting for my empty casings and not a one of them saw where they went.. Have never observed the thing throwing casings so far in some crazy direction that you couldn't even find one of them. The difference in powder made one hell of a difference in recoil and sound as well.

Still can't answer why, but I attended a gun show today:

Random kid walking around selling Glock 17 magazines: $50 each
No-Name poly stripped AR Lower: $500
Euro AKM magazines: $60 each
Private sale Sub2k: $1300
Private sale Sig 556: $1850
Private sale FN Five-Seven: $2700
Suomi m31 parts kit: $120

I bought a set of 3 "ladder" type rail covers and a fagpul RVG for the Primary Arms carbine length quad rail that came for my AR. Ordered the PA quad because it was $30 and I was really curious if I'd like it or not, then decided to try out a vertical grip for the hell of it. Personally I've never really cared for vertical grips and feel like they're a little too tacticool for my tastes, but honestly think I kinda like it. Added too much weight to my gun though, so the quad rail might get replaced with a LaRue 7.0 floating unit.

Forgot to take any pictures of shooting today...

Gunshow here in VaBch this weekend... went to the range yesterday instead. First time down at the C2 Shooting center, very nice place. Ammo in the pro-shop not inflated at all, refreshing. $16 for a box of 9mm FMJ... better actually than I'm seeing online anywhere.

Shot an AK for the first time... no wonder the ragheads can't hit **** with those things. It was a bare-bones Norinco and surplus steel-case, and I had trouble with a B-26 at 100yds.

On the other hand, my buddies and I were hitting a 12x12 steel plate at 300yds about 4/5 shots with his sweet M1-A... PING... so ******* satisfying.

Put 100rds through my AR and Glock.

Also discovered that I NEED A SCOPE FOR MY .22 BAAAAADDDDD!!!

Was semi-happy with my Simmons .22mag until I stepped up to some match ammo yesterday and none of my groups got better. The parralax is horrendous and I've always just "dealt". Am almost certain I'm getting a 3-9x40 Nikon Prostaff, but there are lots of suggestions for the Weavers and Sightrons. Waiting for a good deal to pop up to try and get that Nikon down around $130. They've got the silver ones at Nikon Outlet for $117 but out of stock... otherwise they're $170.

I've been just keeping my eye on local forums/armslist and actually finding normally priced deals time to time.

Going to start hoarding brass from my local range though. Figure at $3 a pound... I can fill up a lot of 5 gallon buckets for a rainy day.
