Well considering its 9 pm and I should have been drinking hours ago I just went on a beer run. There was of course all domestics and some lame imports like flying dog and some other puke fest IPAs as well as the horrible rye beers that taste like pine air freshener.

So what's everyones favorite beer? I ended up defaulting to Yeungling tonight because i like it and it's cheaper then some. Otherwise I thought i might try Dos Equis, then decided to get it at the local mexican restaurant in a nice 32 oz iced mug tomorrow during lunch.

If you don't drink beer I basically don't care for your input

Warsteiner is good, though I've only had it one time and it was pretty much room temperature and flat. Grolsche is supposed to be pretty good, pretty sure I can get that here. Might try that as well.

Let me apologize in advance for off topic. My favorite beer is a nice dry red wine. If I want hard liquor, it is a perfect margarita. A perfect margarita is

2 parts good quality tequila over ice
1 Part triple sec or whatever Orange Liquor you prefer
1/2 part fresh squeezed lime.
Sip slowly and enjoy. Please, no blender or sweet and sour, that is not a margarita.

Not to mention the **** I got when I told them I don't like beer.

First, Flying Dog is made in Frederick Maryland, so unless you recently emigrated to Canada, it's not an import.

Second, do not judge Flying Dog until you have had their Road Dog Scottish Porter. Good stuff.

My absolute favorite beer of all time is one that I have only had a single glass of, and which no longer exists anywhere. In 2006 I was in Denver on business, doing a router commissioning at the Jefferson Pilot radio group's new studios. I'd brought with me the new kid in the engineering department to give him some field experience, and as it happens he was from Denver originally. On our last day, he took me to a pub called the Falling Rock, which is the sort of place where they actually explain to anyone who requests a Bud Lite that there is a sports bar just across the street which might better cater to their interests.

Anyway, this was a few days after the close of the Great American Beer Festival, and the Rock had received many of the leftover partial barrels. After what felt like being interviewed by the bartender to determine my worthiness, he poured for me a small glass of a brew that had been produced by Oskar Blues for the competition. It was a Scotch Strong Ale which had been aged for 18 months in an old whiskey cask.

As I sat at the bar appreciating that glass of beer, I was at once both giddy and morose. My elation, of course, came from the fact that this was the richest, most complicated, most aromatic and wonderfully textured beer that had ever crossed my lips, and I pleasure I knew that few upon this earth would ever experiance. And my sorrow from the fact that there was but one half barrel of this elixer upon the whole earth, and that upon its completion, never again would this particular beer be enjoyed by mortal men.

Hell, I'm getting a little teary just writing this, and I've got a perfectly good half-empty glass of Brother Thelonious Belgian Style Abbey Ale sitting right next to me. It pales by comparison...

You should find a new beer. Amstel Light is 2.5% ABV.

If you are in the area, or you mystically get them. Clipper City brews are good. (Baltimore Beer). Good beers that range from the Marz-hon. Peg Leg Stout, and the Holy Sheet.

Recently for bottled beer I can get anywhere I've been enjoying Dos Equis Amber.

Personally I've been searching for a good Mead to try.

I go 4 to 6 months at a time with out beer. (******* general order #1) My first opportunity to legally obtain an intoxicating liquid is the Dubai airport. There is a nice little Irish pub near my departure gate that has the best ******* guinness I have ever consumed.

Joe, the Flying Dog Amber Lager is also very good. we just finished off a 6 of that this week.


So one of the reasons we fell in love with the house we're buying is this place around the corner (literally, 3 minute walk) called the Lost Dog Cafe. Check out the beer list (at the bar and for sale at the adjoining deli):

I will chime in although I'm not a "beer man". As pointed out, rum is my drink of choice, but when it comes to store bought beer, for light'ish, I just drink PBR. Mexican=Pacifico. Domestic=Yuengling. For imports, I'm partial to Bass and Harp when in a bar.

But when it has to be red... Karl Strauss Red Trolley Ale.

And FTR, Landshark reecently made my top5 worst aftertastes ever, just ahead of a warm and flat Schlitz.

It was wrong of me to say import and then refer to flying dog. I guess I see 3 colors of beer. Domestics, foreign, weird microbrews with crazy colored labels/boxes that I try when I feel the need. I tried 3 different flying dog's and didn't care to write anything down or remember which brew it was because I didn't care for any 3 of them.

We have a good local bar for a smaller town. 18 beers on tap with good prices. They pour Guiness slow, I can't stomach it though, tears me up big time.

When I was Spain my Junior year of HS we ended up at this bar, bunch of young kids with no idea what we were doing. Got hammered in minimal money drinking out of big 1.5 L boots all night. The beer was good but i have no idea what we were drinking, probably nothing special.

Considering making my own beer this summer. I think it would be nice to do it at least once.

I don't drink much anymore, but when I'm looking to get a little nuts I like 151 or Jack. I just had me a couple Coors lights out skating, not really a fan though. After work at the shop the guys all drink Budweiser, so that's a regular. The brazilian guys have me drinkin 4-5 Caipirinhas at times.

I like enjoying a Woodchuck once in awhile. I'd say favorite taste would be Woodchuck. When I drink to drink though, it really doesn't matter what it is.....
