your gobbament at work

So there's a city called Lilburn about 20 or so miles from my home. The City of Lilburn has already banned pool tables from any place that serves alcohol. Now they've banned Karaoke as well. That's right folks, no singing when you're drinking. :nono:

Now you'd think the City would do something productive, like go after their infestation of illegal immigrants. Nah, bustin balls must be more fun (or pay better?).

Ever heard of a town called etown until 2002 it and the surounding county where completely dry that is right no liquor or alchohol sales what so ever so count yourself lucky.

yeah I went to a car show in Tennessee that was in a dry county. Had to go to the next county over to get a case of beer, then pour it in plastic cups so that the local law would not suspect anything. Well, they did, and made me pour all the beer down a sink or go to jail. I went to jail. J/K I committed the ultimate sin and poured it out. :gay:

Here in GA, it is not legal to purchase alcohol from retail stores on Sundays. It's called a "blue law". It is legal to purchase alcohol from a bar or restaurant on Sunday though. Someone in the state legislature has introduced a bill to repeal the blue law, but it's met a lot of opposition. Freakin Christians.

I live in a half dry county. No liqour sales within the county, but beer is widely available.

Good. Dancing is a manifestation of the body.

RotorNutFD3S 03-06-2007 11:15 AM

Ah yes. I love GA.
Listening to the news on the way to work this morning and then switching over to 99X to see what they had to say about it was hilarious!

it bugs ass that I have to check my friggin calendar to buy booze here. the only thing good is that bars stay open later than in CA.

Ohio had a similar law- no alcohol sales on Sunday before noon. Guess they don't want folks showing up for chuch intoxicated.

Utah is BYOB :) (Lake Powell.)

It's like "stadium beer." 3.5% = lame.

No booze on sunday is a terrific law btw, like drunks can't plan one day ahead.

Drive thru liquor: Now thats a good idea. Talk about convenient!

xturner 03-06-2007 01:34 PM

Years ago, it used to be legal to drink while driving in Texas, as long as you weren't DUI. I remember a drive-thru bar in El Paso.
