2010 Northeast Dyno Day Date Poll!
 

Since no one else can pickup a god damn phone (<cough>Artie<cough>)and make one phone call, I'll do it. ;)

A poll for the best date for the most people to attend and then I'll set it up and details to follow. FWIW, the later in the fall we go, usually the colder it is, but also gives more time for people to get things done. We always seem to get a overcast/sprinkle day in the spring, and colder than usual in the fall so keep it in mind while you vote bitches.

Location will be in Newark, Delaware at the usual dyno place that we go to that has always been accommodating.

I'm down with whatever date you guys setup. I won't be dynoing, but I'll be there to mooch off of Scott again!

Bad news. ACA Performance sold their dyno because they were not making enough money off it so if this goes down, we'll need to find a new place. I know of some other local places that might work with us in terms of being flexible like ACA so not sure if people would be up for something in PA, outside of Philadelphia.

How far is York Automotive in Md from everyone? They are a miata shop and have a load bearing dyno.

For those who don't know, that would be York Automotive in Mt. Airy, MD.

Not York Automotive in Myersville, MD or any of the numerous automotive establishments in York, PA which is what would turn up if you simply googled "York Automotive."

That's my vote for a location. Ed owes my a dyno pull too so...

From our last dyno day there, we can start pulls around 9/10 oclock and go until around 5. Costs are $50/participant. 3-5 dyno pulls are included for that price (depending on time and amount of participants). AFR, torque/hp readout is provided.

Positive on the shop- the last dyno day, nobody blew a motor!

Any day but the 6th thats my fucking yearly inventory again (second year in a row)!

i'm good for any date... but the longer we wait .. the longer i have to make sure my car still runs! haha

since when are any of you from the NorthEast?

Yep, and even parts of Maryland were south of the Mason-Dixon line.

This is like the discussion we always have in Jersey about what's North, Central, and South. If you cut Jersey in 3 parts its different than what people assume as north, central, and south. If you look at a map of the US and had to cut it into North and South without knowing any history, you may or may not include Virginia. The state can swing both ways.

Well I made my shop recommendation. If the official NE dyno day does not happen I will organize a day for november at york.

Whoever made that map forgot to yellow out northern maine.

Everything south of Jersey is the 'south' to me.

It's not bad for me....but then I wouldn't be able to stay over at brgracer's house.

The only thing I can think of in or near Mt. Airy are:

1) J&P's pizza (gotta try the bacon and french fry pizza and use ranch dressing or marinara to dip it in!)

2) 75/80 drag strip. Maybe Friday night? I ran a 16.2 with my Toyota Sienna minivan and my son in the baby seat! They weren't too happy when they found out that he was in the van on my 2nd attempt.

1 hour and a half at most for me...once I see a list of who all is going, I'll make up my mind. I'm still not dynoing though.

I got so excited thinking this was local to me!

Here's the deal with most local places. They don't want to block out a day unless they are certain a good number of cars are coming and of course people don't commit until they know where it is so, it's a whole chicken/egg situation. Long story short, I need to know how many people really plan to DYNO assuming it's $50 for four pulls with wideband. The other assumption is that the dyno place is within twenty minutes of Philadelphia as a location. Let me know.

I'd be down if it's near Philly or NJ and most those days work for me. York is too far for me.

Philly area is full of win for me, and I might even think about dynoing just for shits and gigs. I'm on stock injectors, so I'm keepin it under 8psi, but if I'm dynoing, then I'm supportin the cause, right? I would just like to see how close my MS-2 standalone on roughly 8psi gets to my previous MS-1 parallel with CAS 209whp at 11.9psi.

Erm I would be dynoing. I might not have my VVT set up so I may try a few VVT maps for fun.

will my car catch your disease? cause mines been running the best it's ever run in over 5 years.

My car is running the best management setup I've ever had on it. It won't even blow smoke all over the place on the dyno again, maybe just stink a little...but yeah, count me in for dynoing. If it's near Philly I might be able to get 1 or 2 friends to dyno also so we can keep the group discount as low as possible.

I used to live in Southeast DC. I'm familiar. But no, in NOVA we have the latinos and asians. Reminds me of northern california a lot but without as many good mexican restaurants for some odd reason.
